Early spring cleaning. The rain gullies sling the parking bays needed clearing. I pressure washed about half of the paving in the back garden. That took much longer than expected, they're filthy.

Wife out, so I was daddy day care.
Straight to the cafe for a fryup, dropped the youngest at her friend's and went for a walk with the eldest. Finished the day off with coffee and cake, well he had a hot chocolate. Not a bad day.

Also had the sparky round today. The raspberry pi running solar assistant is now hooked up to the inverter, I've started the process of setting up home assistant and learning how to pull in data from the inverter, power company, and a solar level forecast service. Next step, working out thresholds and building automations to control the battery charging cycles. If I get bored I might just look and see if I can find an octopus agile integration and switch tariff.

There is already an Octopus integration. Install HACS. It’s got all the community integrations in it.D6Nutz wrote: ↑25 Jan 2025, 22:38 Also had the sparky round today. I found the octopus integration. I now have live rate information feeding in, I've also found a solar prediction integration, and it's also linked to solar assistant to control the inverter.C00kiemonster wrote:There is already an Octopus integration. Now to start working on the automation side.

Took a bit of fiddling, but got it working now.C00kiemonster wrote:You’ve got all the data you need now
I'm using Solar Assistant as well, so it took a bit to suss out the MQTT setup between it and Home Assistant. I've got the octopus integration as well, but don't need that for now. The final integration is a solar prediction API.
The final piece was the scenes and automation to toggle the overnight battery charging, so now it's good solar is predicted then the SoC should be automatically lowered. All I need now is some sun to test it.

Cooking in a heat wave, until the cold front rolled through. Last nights low was 26°C

It's fulfilling my goal of processing all of last years crap. By talking through it all and having guidance on when to hold on to feelings and really listen to myself, I've been able to unpick the web of emotions. I feel much clearer in my own head now and I've been able to talk about stuff with family and people close to me which has helped further.

Cycling. It's a wee bit brisk out there for me at the moment. 20 miles should cure that.

Another game of football tonight. We've got a very congested fixture list. But we're 7 points clear with a game in hand

The Eagles gave up in the fourth. Everyone on their side was being given a chance to play. Most of the starters were rested

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm doing bugger-all today 'cept laundry and cleaning...it's pi$$ing down outside and it's apparently going to stay that way for the rest of the week.
I wouldn't care but I'm itching to get out and go cycling and get some miles in.
