Sadly yes, unless it's local or has some other level of significance to it, a shooting here is not much more notable/newsworthy than a wreck on the freeway.

It's all over the news this morning though, big time.

Also, I was mistaken earlier when I wrote that this shooting was the result of criminal activity close to the parade.
It wasn't....that was LAST YEAR'S Superbowl parade shooting. (facepalm)

And in fun former president-type news....Donald Trump has been fined over $350 million for civil fraud, among other things, and most of all just being a general all-round douchebag. Apparently the actual fine with pre-trial interest (whatever that is) tags another $100M onto the bill.
He can appeal, but from what I can gather, he has to deposit the amount of the fine as a security before the appeal can be made.

About time. (happy)

It's good to see the far right get a kicking in the French elections.

I presume the results mean Macron has to step down?

South Korea has called an emergency state of martial law. There's not much more detail at present.

There's suggestions of evidence Israel used a small nuclear device in Syria. The detonation caused a small earth tremor in the region, radiation peaks in Cyprus 16 hours later and recordings of something called a P wave.

If it turns out hat they have, it could be a be changer setting the unwelcome precedence that "others" can refer to as they adopt the new normal ..
Not good for any of us and certainly not for them..

Musk throwing a couple of Nazi salutes wasn't what I expected to see today.

Yeah, but he's part of Team Trump now, so it's not exactly a bone-shattering surprise either... :D

It wasn't a nazi salute, but him throwing his heart out to the crowd.

I love how Trump and his mates know their followers are stupid enough to believe it.

That's actually pretty much along the lines of what I got from it myself, TBH. I certainly didn't get the whole pseudo-nazi thing that everyone seemed to jump on.

This has been sent to all NASA staff

The intent and the language is very worrying.

If that’s true it’s very sinister.

She has literally been in that job since Monday..
I mean, take a minute to get to know your job before re-enacting Kristallnacht over there at NASA, eh?
To be fair, she's just doing what Trump has instructed her to do, hence the promotion I'm guessing. Slag.

It's difficult to express just how angry I am at the suggestion that Palestinians should be removed and relocated.
