Re: Supercharged Ninja imminent
About time one of the major manufacturers had a delve into superchargers, best way of producing a clean economic and tractable high powered engine, using charge pressure sensors to regulate the injection system along with a Vtec style system could produce a fantastic if complex motor.

Re: Supercharged Ninja imminent
You can get 50% more torque & power without trying too hard using a supercharger, if they do the full fat, full caffeine nasty litre bike version it's a new frame and swingarm guaranteed as nothing else will stand the stresses involved. If they use the variable speed gizmo it can be controlled like a conventional multi map set up on modern bikes, and yes it could/should be shit hot fast as well Kwacky.
Alfa and Mercedes have used superchargers - it's what Kompressor means, hence my comment about it being about time it was seen on a bike.

The whining noise they make is addictive too. Much more torque low down as well. My car has a superchargerPerkles wrote:merc v8s fitted with supercharges sound amazing, wonder what a little bike engine will sound like it should scream

Re: Supercharged Ninja imminent
Sounds great and small powerful engines are the future for all manufacturers do to emission regs. Surprised not using turbos as free power where as superchargers absorb some power to drive them. I read some where jag put a supercharger on a v8 and it made 160 bhp more than the natural aspirated engine but used 80 bhp to drive the super charge so net result was an 80 bhp increase.
