Cleaning the inside of the car ready to go on holiday.

I’ve hoovered up enough dog hair to make another one 😳

I do have gloves but recently found I prefer riding without
I'm a bit hit & miss on gloves myself, TBH...but I cringe when I see other people not wearing them.
Which reminds me, I need to buy a new helmet.

Cycling today. It was too hot, and generally a bad idea all-round. I'm exhausted.

I'm off to Tallinn. My mate's life is a complete mess, so either I'll end up killing him or spend the entire time heavily drunk.

Had a 14 Kw Tesla Powerwall fitted to our solar system.

Should give considerable savings to our power costs and gives us a seamless back up power source during blackouts (not uncommon up here)

Getting Starlink shortly as well, so we maintain communications/internet during blackouts as we have zero mobile reception here.

All good steps to begin able to have Byron being confident in being in the house alone for more than a few hours.

I’ve got a 6kw (5.2 peak post inversion) system over 21 panels with micro inverters. Makes it far more efficient. The same company put those in just over 10 yrs ago. They were impressed that I’m still getting around 90-92% production out of them. And they haven’t had a clean since before the last big fires, really time to do that!! You can get much better panels now but these were top notch when I got them and it was paid back in 4 yrs with savings.

I just have to buy a wifi mesh system tomorrow as our single router won’t get through the brick wall to the gateway on the Tesla properly. An update to activate the system that should take 20mins has only got to 72% 8 hrs after it started. Only Tesla can see it from there end till it’s done. So with the mesh should have a decent connection.

I'm off to hospital with my Wife shortly for an ECV.. manual manipulation to turn baby from breech position.

Slight chance of emergency caesarean. <50% change of desired outcome. We are already booked in for a caesarean on Monday if it doesn't work today.

Unexpectedly it worked.. baby was successfully flipped out of the breech position!

Honestly, I couldn't watch. It's BRUTAL.

Midwife did all her things to monitor baby and ensure all was safe to go ahead.
2x Doctors came in, did their scan to confirm position of baby and determined their plan before giving Mum and injection to relax her uterus.
These 2 doctors did two attempts the conventional way but getting nowhere before they changed tac and tried to turn baby the long way round. All the time their muscles are shaking where they are giving it their all. They were successful in repositioning baby's head but nothing more.
All through this my Wife was INCREDIBLY calm and barely showing sign of discomfort, let alone pain.

One of these doctors got called off to theatre and the other went to find the ward consultant.. she said to the consultant, "we have a hardcore one.. do you want a go?" :D

So this consultant comes in, wet with sweat from whatever ordeal she's just dealt with in theatre and is cool as a cucumber. She does all the things.. scan, discussion, plan, injection... then she climbs up on the bed and gets to work. Wow this woman had done this before because the force and swiftness in which she worked was expert! But.. this force was definitely noticed and a few times my Wife was in significant pain. This time the consultant was pausing after little bits of movement to let baby have a chance to kick and help itself which worked.
Before too long, baby was flipped and engaged in the pelvis!

Heading into hospital me and my Wife were thinking we should probably just stick with the C-section, assuming this process wasn't going to work and therefore why put herself through it. Because of this we were both shocked when we felt proper elation upon the success!

So moving forward, C-section on Monday has been cancelled and we are on route for a vaginal birth.

In closing, I've never felt more satisfaction than when we were driving home and my Wife looked at me and exclaimed, "I'm proud of myself"...

"So you bloody should be!!!!!" I replied.

Finally got the Powerwall online. The 1-2 mbps speed connection t was getting off the old router managed to lock up the firmware update and cause a drama. With the mesh installed and a satellite in the fusebox beside the battery it’s now getting 100+ mbps.

Side result of setting up the mesh is the internet at home is 100+mbps everywhere inside, and still 50-70 way down the back of the property. I’ve been able to easily latch the printers to static addresses as well so no more problems with them dropping off the network constantly. Well worth the investment.
