Took the sx in to work. Good job as there was a smash in t the motorway on the way in. The joys of filtering.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Decided after work yesterday that I needed a break from life, so took the triumph out for a blast.
It's very odd going back to a road bike after riding the KTM quite a bit recently, it seems very small and fooking fast.
Way too many dickheads on the roads, but did manage to find some beautiful country lanes I'd never ridden before, so that was cool.

Added the diode to the fridge wiring and tested it, all good with a momentary peak of 8A down from 23A
So I added some aluminium tape to the top of the top box... Imagine sticky backed aluminium foil, it's not the neatest job but it's going to be good enough, it's a nightmare to work with and really sharp edged.

Washed both bikes off. Took the KTM up to MX and it was pretty dusty after a few laps of the enduro.
Just getting the triumph out of the shed and noticed a clicking from the front when I touched the brakes. A quick look at the pads revealed not a lot, literally. So new pads on order, guess what I'm doing this weekend.

Went out this morning for a couple of hours on the kwak. Nothing exciting apart from a play with an Audi V10. That's a sweet sounding car.

I was spoiled rotten by a random R8 V10 Plus years back. I got to hear that thing in full song up to some very fun speeds!

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Up and out early for a 3 hour ride on the trails.
Joined up with a couple of the local TRF groups and they seem to have a few people happy enough to take newer riders out to get experience. The guy today still turned up despite his garage getting broken into last night with scrotes trying to nick his bike (3rd time recently apparently
)
All kind of trails from wide gravel tracks down to the most overgrown single track paths imaginable. Apart from the road sections the only other vehicles of the morning where 3 land rovers on the ridgeway who where more than happy to move over and let us past.
I'm really enjoying off road riding, possibly more than road (mainly due to the lack of twats)

Washed the SX. A quick rinse down, pre wash, rinse, snow foam then rinse. Towel dried and put it back in the garage.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Cant clean the MX as its no stop rain. So cleaned / washed /changed the air filter, (I have two I rotate) Oiled up the new one, and good to go.
Changed the gear oil, made the most fundamental mistake! Wally!!! Left the sump plug out when I started to fill.... Doh.
Amazon man turned up late last night, with my oil and a bag of crush washers for the sump plug. Happy days. So after putting all this back together, it was a case of giving a good warm up in the man cave... luckily I fitted a fan and a run of ducting in the roof of the mancave so I can clear all that two stroke goodness out quickly

Both bikes road worthy and re-registered for the coming year.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Washed and polished it, now to go for a ride to book it in for a service and order a new indicator, it got cracked in Scotland (probably a stone chip) and is now full of water.
I am really impressed with the Dunlop RS4 tyres, 5K miles and still going strong on this heavy and torquey bike, not a single slip or slide and new lean angle PB's of peg scraping at 46° loaded up, both sides.

It’s been weirdly cold. The temperature figures don’t actually represent how cold it feels. I thought it as just me missing the tropics but seems everyone is complaining about it

I took the kwak out for a ride around the Cotswolds and Warwickshire.
The roads were very busy.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Swore at it.... A lot....
Took a while to find the sump plug as it just looks like any old 13mm bolt. KTM have conveniently placed it right above the frame so the oil drains onto the frame, I've got a sump guard so 50% of the oil would have ended up there.
My next decision triggered the swearing.
I tried to remove the sump guard, but couldn't as the exhaust was in the way. Well today's lesson was, don't remove an after market exhaust system as they are a **** arse to put back on.
I loosened the bolt for the sump guard but couldn't put it back so had to take the exhaust off anyway. It's all back together now but it took a few hours.
Oh, cleaned and oiled the air filter as well

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Not much, I was going to take it to the dealer to pick up some parts but as soon as I moved the car it started raining hard, so I just went in the car.
New front mud guard, because some F-in monkey (ME!) rolled it backwards with the disc lock on and it's cracked.
New front right indicator because as mentioned above, a stone cracked it a few months ago and it's now full of water.
Looks like all the front right plastics have to come off to reach the connector for that, and the wheel has to come out for the mud guard... Should be a fun tinker session.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I've just gone to take the MV out and there's not enough charge in the battery to start it.
I had it on the optimate in the week. It did go to green after a few hours then back to amber after it does the test. It did that a few times. Either the battery is on its way out or there's a short somewhere.
I'll put it on a 48 hour charge in the week and see what happens.
