Doin' nowt at all today...I hope. There's an "Extreme Heat Advisory" in effect. I'll end up cleaning & doing laundry, and other fun stuff like that.

Done feck all today, it was nice.
Most effort was spent applying some lube to the KTM 's chain for tomorrow.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Sod all except washing, got back from Spain at about 8 pm last night after a 8 hour journey up from Plymouth with 2 fuel stops for my mate on his S1000XR, My GSA has the range to do it in 1 hit. We were supposed to outrun the rain and do most of the journey north in the dry but the traffic and multiple stops made for a soggy ride 3/4 of the way.
Tomorrow I'm off to look at new helmets, the Scorpion flipper is too noisy at prolonged motorway speeds and in the rain water finds it's way through gaps and splashes up behind my glasses right in to my eyes, which is "Not Ideal".

Re: What are you doing today ??
I was going down to Wales for the weekend, but some blind boomer bint in a mini had other ideas. What I learnt, the 6 axis IMU and Brembo brakes are brilliant. I went from 50mph to around 20mph with the back wheel 2 feet in the air in 10 yards! And KTMs are quite tough! Far more damage to the Mini than to the bike.

Crap... most importantly is the bike okay?! Secondly, are you okay? Thirdly, does this mean new bike day soon?

Re: What are you doing today ??
Yeah, all good thanks, went to A&E for some X-rays on my hand, but it's just muscle damage. It got trapped between the bars and the car.
There's hardly a mark on the bike, just the bar end mirrors, sliders and a slight misalignment of the forks. Hoping they have moved a bit in the yokes and they're not actually bent. Really not sure which bit of the bike caused all the damage to the mini.

Well, not nice but it could have been so much worse if it wasn't for your very impressive sounding stoppie.Monty wrote: ↑06 Jul 2024, 19:13 Yeah, all good thanks, went to A&E for some X-rays on my hand, but it's just muscle damage. It got trapped between the bars and the car.

Can your claim from her insurance cover the (invaluable) cost to you of missing out on your weekend in Wales ???
Anyway, GWS & fingers crossed for the verdict on your lovely new KTM.

You only just got that Carbon Scorpion, didn't you Stonesie...
Fwiw I would be inclined to send an email expressing your disappointment at the apparent shortcomings of your investment. Doubtless Kwackers will explain to me that I'm deluded, but from my perspective that fails the "Sales of Goods", insomuch as your explanation indicates that it has proved "unfit for purpose" .??

Bugger. Glad you're virtually unscathed from the incident.Monty wrote:Yeah, all good thanks, went to A&E for some X-rays on my hand, but it's just muscle damage. It got trapped between the bars and the car.

If there is damage to the car and not the bike then the only logical conclusion is that you caused the damage? Have you got a headache?

Sounds like you had a lucky escape there Monty, could have been a lot worse.
Glad you're not badly hurt.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Did a 20-mile bike ride late last night, and the same exact ride first thing this morning....well, more or less...took a slightly longer route this morning.
I'm a bit tired but not unduly so, although I'm definitely ready for a decent breakfast.

I’ve got a few fire extinguishers if you need one. This house was a student house so inherited some safety stuff.

I’ll have a look. I know we’ve got loads of water and foam ones. Might have a co2 one, not sure.

Ah crap! Glad you got away reasonably lightly, but not what you want especially with a new bike!Monty wrote: ↑06 Jul 2024, 19:13 Yeah, all good thanks, went to A&E for some X-rays on my hand, but it's just muscle damage. It got trapped between the bars and the car.

Re: What are you doing today ??
My wife had brought out daughter home. She's finished uni and the lease on the house runs out tomorrow. So I've got a depressed 21 yr old. It'll take her a couple of weeks to adjust.
I've been to sunny Milton Keynes to interview some teachers.
