Fully wrapped and still functional... I cannot wait to see his little face when he sees this tomorrow!

+1
Now you see, that's a perfect illustration of how diametrically different our minds work Cav. -Your skill & attention to detail would always lead you to a result like that.
I'm afraid I would have created a carton that could perfectly contain the bike, yet belied the possibility that the present contained could conceivably be the bicycle he most wanted. I would then task him to guess what he had been given, before he could open it..
He's a lucky lad indeed Cav..

Re: What are you doing today ??
This was my first thought to be fair, but I thought it would take me a long time to make a rubbish box to then have to do what I did anyway haha. This was somewhat damage limitation.
It was genuinely therapeutic to do this and only "1 more big sleep" until I get to see his face!!

Cycling.
Did a really quick 20-miler and I'm not even remotely knackered. I'm quite pleased with that.

More cycling. I'm little bit wrecked.....not killer miles or anything like that, but the heat was kicking my behind out there today.
Oh, and feck you, Shimano....your disc brakes suck.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm no longer having a relationship with my Dad again and I don't forsee one in the future.
I have made it clear in every message that my Son is the most important person and that he can still see him. My Dad wouldn't go to his Birthday party because he didn't want to be standing alone at a party. He's 50 years older than my boy so I don't understand how his feelings are more important than his grandchild's.
I suspect he has forgotten that we are pregnant with second child too as he has not asked about them nor my Wife. I can't imagine he will make an effort for long with my Son after this.

Sad though it is, you are better off in life without people who have a negative effect on your life frankly.
His loss.

I agree. I spent a few years not talking to my brother. He was being a dickhead save didn't like Pele telling him to sort himself out.
He's still a dickhead bit he's settled down and more mature

I think your family are your friends, they don't have to be your blood.

A nice trip out to Herefordshire to interview some teachers.
I took the long way home. Shame I was in the car.

Going for a "general health checkup"....which is not so bad I suppose - my doctor's office is literally at the end of the street....maybe 1/4 mile from the house, if that.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Put the mettle to the pedals, Cav.
I'll be doing a little cycling myself in a few. Got a 20-mile route planned...I feel like doing a bigger ride TBH, but we're having a heatwave this weekend, so I need to get out & back fairly sharpish.

DIY
I FECKING hate DIY
Daughter is coming home from university soon. The kids have agreed to swap rooms, so I've got to paint both of them and swap the furniture around.
