New phone time
My trusty Samsung s21 has served me well, but iris time for a replacement.
Android only.
Do I stick with Samsung or look at the Google phones?

Re: New phone time
Android phones are much of a muchness I think.
I've got the pixel 6 pro, it was on a good deal.
Works well, no real complaints. On London days it does 2 hours of video plus about an hour of audio book along with daily emails and still come home with 30+% battery remaining.

Re: New phone time
My Wife's S21 has just been replaced by the S24 and its a noticeable improvement all round. Its slightly shorter physically but the screen uses more of the real estate and is the same size. It also holds really nice in the hand, something I didn't think mattered but it's much nicer to hold than my S23 Ultra

Re: New phone time
I couldn't be bothered to pick a new phone. There weren't many bargains about so I went with a new SIM for now.
I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Re: New phone time
I'm in the same position in May, I really don't "want" any of the new smartphones out there. There's nothing wrong with my near 2 year old OnePlus 10 pro, even the battery is not wearing out, camera is excellent and it does everything I want it to do.
Looks like I will be going to a Sim only deal to save some money.

Re: New phone time
I have had Samsung for a number of years now, so long as I have access to the normal services i am happy. I don't need to learn new operating controls.
I just go with the cheapest deal I can get out of EE. Never seem to get the most upto date models, but they always perform well. Easy to transfer all the stuff off one phone to the replacement as well.

Re: New phone time
Well, I just sorted this out, none of the current crop of phones really do anything my OnePlus 10 pro doesn't and it's battery is still good enough so I just got a Sim only deal.
I'm still with 3 and have now got 120Gb a month, up from 30 and a bill of £16 a month, it had just gone up to a bit over £60.
I will have to buy a roaming pass when I go to Spain but that should be easily afforded from the £44 a month I'm saving.

Re: New phone time
Bargain. It sounds like a lot of people have stopped going for upgraded phones. I don't see the point.

Re: New phone time
I've just switched to SMARTY - 50GB for £8pm. I've put Mrs Cookie on the account too so we get a 10% discount on those prices, so i'm at £7.20 for 50GB. Not sure i'd ever need anything else. You get 12GB roaming for free each month too. Plus i like its contract free too.
New phones really don't do anything 2/3 year old phones do now.

Re: New phone time
My S21 has served me well but it's starting to play up. It's changing some settings and the NFC switches on and off at random.
Time to look for a new phone.

Re: New phone time
The only real advancement is folding phones, if you want that bigger screen most of the big names offer one.

Re: New phone time
I went for a S24 Ultra. I'm signed up for a 3 year plan so thought it best to get something fairly up to date.
I love the way it's so easy now to swap phones. I can remember having to spend about a day transferring everything over.

Re: New phone time
Ah the old days of entering every contact manually as they changed the SIM card size. I don't miss that.
