Laundry.
It's chucking it down here today, and I hate to say it, but doing laundry is the most fun option available. Damn, that sucks.

They do work. In France I made some, lots of thin black tubing, made a big difference to tempskiwikrasher wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 03:43 quiet day at work.. youtubing myself to death... DIY solar heaters for the pool is the current flavour

Yeah you can get commercial roof top systems here, quite popular. I’ve just never installed one as I’m on rain water harvest tank supply solely for water, and if the system springs a leak then my pool water ends up in my drinking water. But being able to make one myself in a different configuration and have it mounted near the pool so another pump isn’t needed might be the go.C00kiemonster wrote: ↑11 Mar 2023, 09:08They do work. I have a 1/2 tapping off the pump/filter discharge that used to be used for an automated chlorination but isn’t used now, even has a variable flow valve on it, thinking if I don’t cause too much head height, that would work well for the heater feed.

I should have never gloated about that. 14 hrs of getting thrashed yesterday. Major equipment tripped out, lost all export and was soaked in sweat climbing ladders and stairs going from valve to valve to bring the unit back up.
So bloody wrecked today… 2 days to go thank f**k.

Cold and gray day at Mallory which I enjoyed immensely, met up with the Laws family and watched my bike spin a few laps .

Went out for a 20-odd mile bicycle ride this morning..... must've missed a turn somewhere on the way and ended up doing the last 10 miles in pouring rain.....it was quite miserable.

Wow Cav' that's a stunning raptor. Didn't realise you were into (feathered) birds.

It's absolutely stunning in person, you don't realise the size of them until you see them in real life!
I love animals in general, but Birds of Prey have always been incredible to me.
We took our boy to World of Countrylife in Exmouth today and were lucky to have this Bald Eagle (Baldric) brought past us while viewing a beautiful Snowy Owl. I just asked the falconer if I could take a picture and that's the result (plus some VERY light touching up in Lightroom - reduced contrast, sharpened and smoothed to bring out as much feather detail as I could). Oh... and a 100% feather vignette to bring more focus to the subject

Re: What are you doing today ??
You can tell it's a bald eagle because all it's feathers are combed to one side.
If an eagle gets run over by a car does it become spread-eagle...??

Re: What are you doing today ??
I've been gardening all morning....a task I cordially detest with a passion. I did get a lot done though, and both the front & back yards are no longer the tropical rainforests they were yesterday. Quite happy with the results.
TBH though, I wish someone would just lay two big patches of asphalt down & be done with it forever.
There's still a decent amount of work left to do, but I made a lot of headway out there. I could use a beer or two right about now.

I've been for a sports massage. Very relaxing at the time but I'll ache tomorrow.

I'm off to see The Pixies tonight at a venue I first saw them at, back in 1989.!

Didn't know they'd gotten back together. I used to have a roommate years & years ago who was fanatical about The Pixies, she used to drive me nuts playing that stuff at all hours of the day and night, VERY, VERY LOUD.

Re: What are you doing today ??
First weekend home and dragged the family and a mate of Byrons out for a bush walk in the Blue Mountains on a waterfall circuit.
About half way, regardless of not being actual swim wear, Jess daughter, Byrons mate and I jumped into a freezing cold waterfall pool in a little cave area. That was some of the coldest water I’ve been in!
Being a 34 deg C day we were all dry 3 kms later when we got back to the car.
Then had kebabs and pizzas for lunch

Gym this morning, some domestic tasks this afternoon then off to Nottingham to see WASP. Not my cup of tea but I said I would go with a mate.
