Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Bit late with the post, but had my first MX outing of the year at Fast Traxx, near Coventry. Lovely track, it was a private hire set up on this occasion. Took some snaps and rode my bike what's not to like lol.....
Well Monday morning my Quads were stiff, found it hard to walk down the stairs lol... but as I have not been on the bike for months, it was not to bad, compared to when I started again and could not actually move anything lol
Out again this weekend to Ashdown for a little fun.....

I got the jet wash out and hayve the SX a quick blast with degreaser then shampoo. Dry it then wheel it back in to the garage. We could do with some decent rain to wash the road salt away.

It is, I have to say I have not laughed so much riding a motorbike as I do MX-ing. I am never going to be the quickest, or the fittest, but it is such a crack. Once you have your gear, which can be low in cost, and obviously the bike. It seems to be anything from £35 to £50 for a days riding somewhere, so not expensive, compared to a track day!StMarks wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023, 18:33Looks great fun.Frankie wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023, 15:31 Yesterday, had a blast around the woods at Ashdown. Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Today I went for a ride with Gaz and Sergio, they decided that I arranged to meet so I could lead.
We went from Squires to the NY500 cafe and on through Pickering to Sandsend just north of Whitby for a bit of lunch. Then home with an ice-cream stop in Helmsley (Ryeburn of Helmsley) Very recommended, Sergio has a knack of finding good snack stops.
190 miles and some great riding despite the crap and salt all over the roads. I'm impressed with the Continental RA4 tyre's, they handled all that whilst giving me the confidence and feedback to use ALL of the rear.

My little brother, who lives just outside Barcelona, seems to do quite a bit of those sorts of trail-blasting through the mountain forests of that part of Spain. I must go and try it out one day.#Frankie wrote: ↑19 Feb 2023, 19:18

Looks like he & his mates take it slightly more sedately than you do Fkkr1s.:

Washed it.
Took it out for a quick spin to meet Frankie.
Had a little ride, chat, and cupper.
Put it back in the shed needing another wash.

Oh, and tried the new lid for the first time.
Absolute quality. So light, comfortable, and quiet. Nice to have a drop down sun visor again, not that it was really needed today.

First ride since November. Very cold first thing but a bit less cold after a coffee and a look at new bikes.
Felt so good to be riding again and finding some nice bends.

Went to have a look at this. Very nice. Looks like it’s tipped on its nose a bit more than mine.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I took the sx out to get some air in my lungs and to test the new helmet.
The helmet is very light and very quiet. It's pretty small as well. You can really notice how stable you're able to keep your head and how easy it is to look around even at high speeds or wth cross winds.
The vents have different settings, which is a blessing when the wind is a bit chilly. The lower vent is a bit fiddly with winter gloves on.

Took the speed out for a quick blast down to swindon to look at some jackets.
I'm still torn on tyres, the M9RR would be a sensible choice,. But the stock tyres, despite being very much on the sports side and very worn are still riding and gripping well.
