It needs Honda and Yamaha to make some big improvements to their bikes so we can see Fabio and Marquez in the mix.
There do seem to be whisperings that Marquez is unhappy with the Honda.

There's 4 riders out for the next race.
Rumours are circling that they're not happy with the sprint racing. It's too much to get in for a weekend.
