Religious zealots and fundamentalists. Grade A nutters using religion for their narrow minded bigoted ideas.

I see quite a few photos that could be The Garment District in LA, downtown San Francisco,.... anywhere that's very Western & at the same time fairly diverse in nature.Monty wrote:Google "Iran 1970s" and click on photos.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
There's a much bigger issue going on. It's all linked to the recent changes in abortion laws. There's been lots of tracking apps being promoted to monitor periods
They really don't care about trans athletes.
If you get bored, do some googling about America being worried there's not enough white kids being born.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
I can see it happening.... abortions are much more prevalent among lower income women - and those also tend to be women of color. With Roe v Wade being recently overturned there's a danger now that they're going to breed whitey right out of existence.

Quite a number of white folk that could do with knowing what it feels like to be a minority race imo.D41 wrote:there's a danger now that they're going to breed whitey right out of existence.

I think that would only heighten their bigotry TBH.
And I also think most of that sort of sentiment is learned behavior.....in other words for the most part I blame the parents.

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
That's true, but we're also naturally wary of the unknown - that's a trait which everyone is born with....and in a lot of people's minds it doesn't take much of anything at all to tip the scale in the wrong direction.Kwacky wrote:No one is born a racist

All it would take is the threat of releasing one photo of Biden, high on a spliff at a Syracuse University party in back in the swinging sixties,,,,,,Kwacky wrote:This is huge. What a move by POTUS

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
He did say at the beginning of last year that he'd be pushing to decriminalize cannabis/marijuana use and/or possession. I guess that this is an extension or expansion of that policy?
And with mid-terms coming up.......

Re: World Politics Stuff (not brexit)
Talking to a guy I work with who lives in the us about this during the week. I don't know what D41 thinks, but his opinion was that this is a bit of a non-announcement.Kwacky wrote:This is huge. What a move by POTUS
From what he was saying, with the exception of the states where weed is already legal, the majority of states look to be opposing this move.
