It looks like there's a renewed offensive against Kyiv, with attacks from the East and Northwest.
Most people seem to think that Russia is looking to split Ukraine into East/West, which is easy to do if you use the Dnieper river as a border.
Russia is forcing people from occupied areas into other occupied regions of Ukraine and into Russia.
Ukraine has said it is willing to continue to discuss matters with Russia. If Russia is looking to split Ukraine in two then I reckon that's what they'll do then demand they can keep what they've taken. At the very least Russia will want confirmation that Crimea belongs to them and they'll expect a land line to it along the south coast as well as the Donbas region.
Ukraine is doing well but it's losing the war. It can only carry on for so long. Russia has more money and resources. People talked about Ukrainians taking up arms in occupied areas but there's very little evidence of this.
Russia appears to be withdrawing some of its troops from around Kyiv.
It's not clear yet if they're being moved into areas they've already taken to strengthen their positions or if they're going to be used to encircle the Ukrainian troops in the east.

The obvious choice for him is to try and capture and maintain everywhere east of the river. It's a consolation prize but something is better than nothing.
The Ukrainians will soon run out of defensive supplies so if Russia are happy to keep sacrificing troops and aircraft, eventually they will win the war.
There's a lot of resources in the East. If Putin uses his Kyiv troops he can encircle the Ukraine JFO troops and take out half of their army, then claim Eastern Ukraine for Russia.
Over 250 UA marines in mariupol have surrendered to the Russians. The city can't be far from falling. The Russians have a city leader lined up to control the city.
Two thirds of the Russian troops and equipment from around Kyiv is in Belarus being refitted, rested and repaired.
More atrocities are coming to light, including a family tied up and shot in the back of the heat. A 3 year old girl has signs of sexual abuse.
Anything storing food is still being targeted.
The expectations now are for a long war in the East of the country. Russia is able to get supplies to its troops on that side of the country so the plan is probably to wear Ukraine down into surrendering parts of the country to Russia or agree to breakaway republics.
