Did chest and arms today. Chest work really helps to stretch out the shoulder.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
two things helping me.
Trainerroad - adaptive training plans seem to be working wonders with my cycling fitness.
and also .. yoga do this 20 min routine once twice a week, sorted out my lower back op issues.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I struggled in the gym yesterday. I've been really tired for about a week. I'm not sleeping very well. I think I'm going through another bout of grieving. My recovery between sets was pretty crap and deadlifts really took it out of me. I wasn't even going heavy.

Of course, I was thinking more recent but definitely not something you can move forward from quickly. You've just gotta do what you want to and feel like doing.. sorry again for your loss.

Back and chest session this morning. Shoulder still tires but it's not aching or sore when I train.

Not setting records but I'm happy with the consistency. It was a windy day today too so relative effort was higher.

2 days of back to back commuting, today I decided to drive and rest before I either ride tomorrow or Saturday with work guys. Maybe the forest on Saturday

Re: The new improved fitness thread
The gym was really stuffy tonight. I was struggling to get my breath back in-between sets.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Yep, that's my concern as well.
Sadly it's the gym my trainer uses. I normally see him in a Saturday morning. The gym is pretty empty at that time.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I put some effort into the "climbs" on my commute in this morning, set a couple of PRs on longer stretches and got my 2nd fastest overall commute.
Fitness is a strange thing.. all of a sudden you realise you're a lot fitter than yesterday.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I decided to give the ride home the full beans.. full berries. Well, gusty headwinds had me drop 2 gears each time and sidewinds were throwing me into the path of lorries BUT I managed to get within 30 seconds of my best time. My legs were in agony though haha

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I'm recovering from a 44km, 775m climbing night ride after work yesterday... my quads are devoid of all energy! Great training though and I wasn't the slowest which is a great sign.
Tackling steep drops at night is interesting though

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Met my PT for an hour in the gym. Not an official session, just helping each other out.
I'm battered. He's trying out a new programme for himself. It's like HIIT with weights. My heart was pounding for about an hour afterwards.

Leg day. I'm still recovering from that cold. My recovery rate is crap at the moment.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
That sucks but fair play to you for pushing through still, says a lot about your mental state.
