My Boss gets through a rear over few days in Wales, he leaves a trail of black lines everywhere he goes!Perkles wrote:I dont think back tyres are going to last very long on the 1299Kwacky wrote:

Bridgestone was around 200 miles, pirelli was 400. He did try a Dunlop and got nearly 1000 but he hated the tyre. He would get a new rear tyre more than once a month.

Think I'd be tempted to buy SC scrubs, it would save a fortune.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Yes and no.. my mate wore the sides out quicker than the middle on brand new tyres so he would get 1 ride in on a set of scrubs before having zero tread.. which.. on a Supercorsa is absolutely deadly. They are very predictable until you hit the wear marker and then it's snappy if you get slightly too ambitious

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Phil showed me his favourite chip shop in Whitby, stopping in Goathland on the way, great roads that I haven't ridden for years in some cases and a good bit of sport with a young guy in a BMW Z4 on the way home, he didn't like being overtaken by a GS with panniers, or that my old sprint was not really trying but easily able to keep up.. When he blocked my overtake attempt I backed off.
I only took one pic at Goathland

I was going to have a couple of hours on the SX but it's started raining. I need to get out run in and serviced before North Yorkshire

Yeah.. I know. Worst thing is I could keep up with him on his GSXR 1000 if he went easy on the straights. It was effing deadly.Monty wrote:Jesus! On the road?

Took the SX into work. Mostly roadworks so I didn't get chance to stretch its legs.
Bit weird seeing the fuel light coming on my commuter at 130 miles.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Had a nice little ride out tonight. Been a long week already, so this is my reward. Plus a bit of a first, wore my Hood jeans and short boots. I have not had them on for years.... I forgot how warm it can get riding in jeans.
I must be honest after wearing leathers for most of the time, i felt a little under dressed..... Speaking of under dressed, went through Henley tonight, forgot it's Regatta time.... Some nice nice views, so made sure it was visited twice lol.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Last night i went out, roads really clear, no wind, dry, warmish.... perfect for a mad half hour, which turned out to be a mad 4 hours lol.... Found a nice little road out of Bibury to Burford, amongst others. One of those rides where your still buzzing for hours after LMAO.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
The boxing birthday boy was still asleep
Wife was out with daughter
Weather forecast said dry for the next three hours
What to do?
Take the MV out.
I head across to Stratford as I've not been that way for a while. I start hitting the country roads and the clouds amass to let loose their load.
Great. First time in the rain.
I switched it out of sports mode into normal.
Or should that be angry f*cker hornet mode into irritating stabby wasp mode. Normal is MV normal. It still wants to hurt you, but it'll tickle your balls before pegging you with the donkey Kong strap on
I'm too far out to worry about going home and the rain is patchy so I stay out and keep going for about an hour.
I stop off for a coffee and the weather improves. I put the bike back in sports mode and headed home. Straight into the rain.
To be fair to the MV, it's really stable in the wet. I thought the suspension would make it twitchy but it's really planted. Good work from the Rosso III tyres.
