I play in a Heavy Metal band called Into Exile and am also a founding member of the Metal band Silent Descent who have had a lot of sucess in Japan of all places, and we (Exile) have played quite a few high profile gigs supporting signed acts including this one at the famous Camden underworld where we got a higher review score in Metal Hammer Magazine than the headlining act.

Cheers Guys and Yeah the Haunted are one of our biggest influences as a band, At practice Tuesday night the other guitarists exact words were, "Ive written a new song, its very haunted-y", seen them live 8 times and we all got to meet Pete Dolving and Anders Bjorler, who is one of my fav guitarists!

Cheers Guys and Yeah the Haunted are one of our biggest influences as a band, At practice Tuesday night the other guitarists exact words were, "Ive written a new song, its very haunted-y", seen them live 8 times and we all got to meet Pete Dolving and Anders Bjorler, who is one of my fav guitarists!

Proof I'm better at spotting musical influences than snake species!

I had a napalm death t shirt once. Wore it once and was in a car crash that day. Never wore it again.

While serving as an Aircraft Tech in the RNZAF I got a couple of rides in the A4 Skyhawks and got to fly it for about 30 mins both times. I learnt pilots are way more skilled than I gave them credit for, but it's one hell of a great way to earn a living!

I also got to fly a Harvard with the canopy open and do a hammerhead stall, that was every part as much fun as the jet rides, radials are the best sounding motors in the world IMHO!

Radials are OK...but no match for a liquid cooled 27 litre V12 (Merlin) or its big brother the 36 litre V12 (Griffon).

I was in the finance department, my job was Comptable Qualifié, and I'm still bilingual...the biggest compliment ever was to be told that I spoke French with the local Dauphinois accent!! I was put on a language course, which was fab, but was in at the deep end anyway, as the lass who had to teach me my job only spoke very basic English. Tbh it was probably the best way to learn, that and buying a TV to listen to everything in French lol One of my favourite chapters in my life, living in Grenoble...

They are indeed impressive donks, but something about the chunky note of a radial tickles me... don't get me wrong, any of those big WW2 era engines give me a grin

In 1981 I was asked by Sqn Ldr George Lee to be his crew chief for his upcoming attempt at the world gliding championships in Paderborn, unfortunately my parents were coming over to Germany for two weeks over the exact same dates so I never got to be his crew chief, but he won the world championships that year so that was good and being asked was incredibly flattering
