Ouch..
I went for the gentle option today. A 10 miler with 1600ft of elevation... Somehow the whole route feels like it's going up a hill..

Re: The new improved fitness thread
I did a 6 mile run this afternoon. Not done more than 4 miles for a while due to work.
Just wish I had more spare time to do more.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
And there was I feeling pleased with myself for doing a 2 mile walk in half an hour... Best get myself back to the gym tomorrow.
In all seriousness I am going more for cardio than weights this time, I want to loose weight not gain it.

Fair play Duke if you can just pick up from where you left off. I've never been able to run 6 miles.
Good idea Stonesie, that's what I'm hoping to get out of cycling. I have 20kg to lose.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Commuted by MTB.
I presume my watch wasn't accurately detecting my HR because I set 5 PRs on Strava and my max HR was only 89bpm. All other segments were my 2nd fastest.
Probably a question for Perks... how do you stop getting a painfully numb meat & 2 veg? I had to stop to allow the shrivelled items to return to a semi-normal shape, reposition and continue.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Do you use a chest strap or a built in sensor on the watch ?? I've got a sensor on the watch that periodically needs a good clean or it gets gunged up with stuff and doesn't read properly. I also have to wear the watch quite tight or I get the same issue.Cav wrote:Commuted by MTB.

With regards to sore gentlemen veg, are you wearing padded shorts ?? lycra with a decent chamois or similar ?? If not that may help, other than that be more careful landing jumps so you don't smack you nuts into the saddle on landing

Re: The new improved fitness thread
The HR sensor is on the rear of my smart watch and I had the strap done up as tight as I did on previous rides and it's only got a small amount of skin oil on it. Gave it a wipe, will see if it reads similar this afternoon.
Yep I have bib shorts with a decent chamois. I just don't know where is best to position my manhood. I have tried standing the little man to attention, like when you're a teen tucking your boner into your waist band. This helps slightly but it's a strange sensation.

Padded shorts and expensive saddles wont really help
alternatively get HRT and have a sex change

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Ride into work 31mins
Ride home 26mins.
There's a reduction of 20m climbing on the way home but it's pretty flat. My knee hurts after that though.

4x8 sets
They were light. I did two lots of 50kg and 60kg
But my hamstrings weren't happy.

Re: The new improved fitness thread
Had a message from my old PT. A client hadn't shown up, do I fancy a free session? So I went and did an hour with him. It was good to catch up.

Good gym session today, couldn't get on all of the equipment that I wanted to but it just made me mix it up a bit... Tomorrow might be interesting.
