Cheers dude!

Just got up to start getting ready. Bloody hotel ( staying in the city ) gave us a wake up call we didn't ask for at 5 am!! So I'd just got back to sleep when my alarm went off at 6.15.

Race for my group starts at 7.55, so I should be all done by 9 and getting a sports massage ( got a VIP invite to the Aspect tent for raising $1,700 ). About that time the group I ran in last year will be hitting heartbreak hill (giggle)

I'll make sure I'll post my result up here when I'm done

Thanks again Jon! (y)

Just done. Fark that was hard work!

Provisional time 62.00 flat for the 14 km. average pace 4'25" /km.

Too knackered to convert for you imperial lot sorry lol

Runkeeper app glitched on me, no music and told me I ran 14.8 km so pacing cues were all out. Went as hard as possible anyway.

Thanks Mac, pretty happy with that, PB by about 3 1/2 mins and only three runs in the last 5 weeks due to my archillies injury.

Speaking of which I'm barely walking now, my whole right leg has seized up. Pain from the archillies, iliotibial band across my knee, and cramped up calf and hammy.

It's by no means a flat race either

Actually dipped just below the 62 min mark.

Most happy with my age group result!

Nice one mate. That's a great time.

I hope the leg frees up soon, at least you can relax now and forget about training for a while.

Cheers Jon. Couldn't believe the drama I had with runkeeper today after raving about it to you, but I guess with nearly 70,000 people in the field there'd be a but of data congestion. Although it ran fine last year with 85,000 in the race.

I'm hoping the leg comes right soon, as I've got the Tuff Mudder early next year to train for, so I won't be giving myself to much of a break. That's my biggest problem actually, sporadic trainng and trying to push my body as I did in my 20's. I'd love to get into a regular training routine, but it's a struggle with two young kids and Fly in fly out work.

Had a Epsom salts bath and throwing down a few drinks now though!!

Keep up your training mate, and make sure you remember to stretch!! The sports masseuse told me off today for not stretching enough, but she was way cute so I just let her (blush)
