Looks like many businesses are not impressed by the rules of the new agreement.

Re: Brexit thread
People have been tweeting that Brexit is a success because there's no queues at the ports.
Erm, everyone stockpiled last year, just in case of a No Deal.
Then loads of people cancelled or re-routed orders when we shut our ports.
People are easily led.

Re: Brexit thread
1/3 of the Scottish fishing fleet is now moored - they're not going out. Some fish species were going at an 80% discount yesterday just to get rid of stocks.
Some British fishermen are catching in UK waters then sailing to Denmark to land their catch. I don't know how long that will be allowed to carry on.

I think the Scottish fishing fleet makes up 2/3rds of the whole of the UK fishing fleet.

Re: Brexit thread
It's a good day for Brexit.
Ford has just announced price rises and said that they're due to "post brexit rules of origin" taxes.
£1700 on a Fiesta ST and Puma ST increasing by £1,920.

Apparently, fully one-third of fishery "landings" in the UK are done just at Peterhead alone.duke63 wrote:I think the Scottish fishing fleet makes up 2/3rds of the whole of the UK fishing fleet.

When you consider "What does the EU do" trended on Google search for days after the vote, they probably won't be thinking a great deal.

So all that time bitching back and forth about fishing while ignoring the bigger parts of the picture is working out for the best then.

Re: Brexit thread
Anyone with common sense could see it was bad for British people but not enough used what sense they ahd when voting.
We are no longer a part of a single market with no barriers. Instead we have a free trade deal that only agrees to no tariffs but there will be barriers, borders and red tape.
Hopefully within ten years people will realise what a mistake it was and will want to put it right.

Re: Brexit thread
I saw the results of a poll the other day.
Tories would still take 47% of votes if there where a snap election, with labor getting 41%.
The stubbornness of the British public is bewildered.

To be in the single market you either have to be an EU member state or part of the EEA.Kwacky wrote:But Leave said they wouldn't leave the single market.
