Look to the Sth West in the night sky tonight and you can see Jupiter and Saturn as close as they will be seen for another 400 years.
Currently as clear as anything.

Just popped out for a quick walk to have a look outside of the village light pollution. Lovely sight.
Tried to get a photo or two but you really do need a tripod for low light shots it seems.

I've wanted to see this, however there's too much cloud cover up here tonight...
Anyway, on the subject of planets..
I've long been fascinated by the fact that Mars's Magnetic core failed, resulting in the planet loosing it's water and atmosphere, around 4 billion years ago. Then just under 4 billion years ago life on our planet Earth began.

Not my photo skills unfortunately, but from another photographer in the village.

Thank you very much for posting that Jon.
Not wishing to seem ungrateful, but I still wish the low cloud would clear so I could see it with my own eyes though

I know what you mean, hopefully tomorrow will be clearer for you. Isn't tomorrow supposed to be the day they are the closest?
