Is some of that because of the Euro-4 thing (or whatever it's called??) I've seen a lot of stuff about on here??

The euro regs mean heavy exhaust systems. It's a struggle for some bikes to meet the emissions tests which is why some models have been dropped.

But it's not just the euro regs. Headlights, indicators, rear lights, pillion pegs, number plate and holder. There's loads to take off a bike for the track.

It will be a weapon for sure. Doing this will not only save costs on all the road going bits, but they could use a more basic loom/electronics, keyless ignition? sub frame/seat unit could all be light weight.... will be interesting if any other manufacturers follow ?

They're special order. The thing with that is 636cc is eligible for supersport so there's really no need.

I suspect the bike will still be £9k but Yamaha will have a higher margin. I also don't think they'll be fitting lightweight parts, they'll just not install the road legal equipment. The bike will likely weigh 20kg less and produce 5bhp more
