There is a lot to be said for a bike that you can ride hard on the road without ending up in prison..or in a hedge.

Imho that's ^ a nice looking spec', with the USD forks & twin Brembos whilst not too "bitty". However I do like the tail on the one you've found in Sydney, but the rest looks somehow lardy, & the spec' doesn't look to compete.?

They have been a round for a few years now and have evolved a lot over those years.

2016 was when they became more modern than retro.

I think I prefer the speed twin. But the Thruxton is nice too. I just find all the classics small.

I keep flip flopping.. I'm back on the 'I might buy one' train again. One in Sydney has come up (2010 900cc, I like the older style) with 1,600 km on it!!!! old bloke that takes it out a couple of times a year.

Has an arrow 2 in 1 on it already and he's asking reasonable money. Needs a tail tidy.

I've had a few emails back and forth and he seems a pretty stand up bloke. If it's still there I'm going to at least go look at it with cash in my pocket. If I get it, I'll shift the GB asap. Still have 3 guys pestering me about it, but can't do anything while I'm away.

Might be like the GB and I get sick of it in a few years, but it's an itch I wanna scratch, so feck it.

Have a look at this site. Its based in the UK but they make some cracking parts for the Triumph parallel twins ( and RE as well).

The owner makes quite a few vidoes of whqt he does and how they work, all on you tube. I love watching his videos as its about messing with bikes and improving them which is becoming ever harder to do with the very latest models.

Had a phone chat with the guy, 65 year old that bought it off his 68 year old mate as a favour. His mate bought it as he was getting his licence but scared himself on a smaller bike learning and never rode it as he bailed on getting his full licence.

Johan (current owner) has 5 other bikes and has only ridden this enough to keep the engine seals from drying out

He has one guy that got in before me and is looking at it tomorrow. If he doesn't buy it on the spot, we've agreed I can put a deposit down and he'll hold it for me. It's the model/bike I've been after and I'll not find another one in practically brand new condition, so worth the punt I feel.

He said if I miss out on it, he has a Speed triple he's selling too

The guy that looked at it was keen but tried to haggle far too low. So he told him he had another person keen (me) and the guy thought he was making it up So I've been told that guy has lost his chance and it's my bite of the cherry now. So just sorting out getting a deposit to him.

Might be new bike day when I get back!

Not happening, I asked for some close up pics and of any defects and the bike isn't as it first appeared. I'll post them up a bit later. He lives coastal and it's taken its toll. Plus there is heavy grazing to a engine cover and a scratch/dent in the arrow

I'm now thinking maybe I should spend a bit more and go the modern 1200R
