It's been rushed in order to save lives.
I'm fine with people being in a hurry about stuff like that.
It’s been rushed to make money it might save people’s lives

Yearly Influenza deaths run around 10-14k every year.

I know earlier this year deaths from flu were zero, is this still the case?

The ONS figures don't back you up. They run monthly updates. Flu and pneumonia are usually clumped together, because flu often causes the latter.

The official annual causes of death ONS report is usually released in June the following year.

I remember at the time when I was looking at ONS data there were a handful of flu/pneumonia cases and zero deaths. They must have gone back and corrected it after the fact.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make was this.. even if you took 10,000 deaths off the total for covid, it's still killing 4x as many people as flu.

That's about right. The lowest figure I've seen is 3.4 times the mortality rate. As mentioned before, with Covid there's evidence it causes long term damage. I think that's the real health crisis.

The long term health risks appear to be exactly what my Wife and I both have... ME / CFS. This is good news for us because they currently invest £0 in research for it, if a lot of people get it then hopefully they'll start researching and making progress with it. I completely understand that's a very selfish outlook.

The logistics alone of ensuring the vaccine reaches poeple is massive.
It's being made in Belgium and Germany.

Getting it into the country might be a problem seeing as we're no longer part of the EU

That's not a selfish outlook Cav... not at all. There's nothing selfish about wanting to take care of yourself.
If, on the other hand you'd have said "Hopefully a lot of people get it...." - that'd be a little different.

We officially got told today that when a vaccine is available in Australia, it will be a condition of employment. You don't have to have it, but you won't be deemed fit for work unless you have. they said the legal team has informed them within Australian Workplace Law, it's within there rights to put this condition on us.

also my niece in the states has just tested positive. She had just started working at an Autism Centre as a Behavioral Specialist post finishing her double medical sciences degrees earlier in the year. The whole place went lousy with it.

I had bit of a quiet night at work last night, and seeing some tin foil hat type propaganda about the mRNA vaccine causing DNA modification that is inheritable, I did some research and study.

While this vaccine is new, the use of mRNA has been worked on for over a decade, and the approach it uses compared to traditional vaccines is quite technically interesting. Luckily I helped Jess with a lot of her bioscience studies this year and had some background knowledge that helped me understand things I was reading.

But in a nut shell this article is probably the most straight forward explanation of the vaccine methodology. Still lots of questions and unknowns for me, but worth a read if you are interested.

smoking damages your DNA but it recovers after quitting, the problem I have with these vaccines and many aspects of how the government has handled COVID is the profiteering and pushing aside normal safe practice procedures

Both kids are booked in for a test this morning. Alex had a sore throat so his school want him tested. Georgie is having a test just to be on the safe side and in case her college asks.

They're both fine. It's the school being cautious.
