Re: What are you doing today ??
It’s all a bit somber here in quarantine today.
One of the guys attempt to hang himself last night.
He had been talking to his dad and after the call his dad was concerned so rang a mate of his that’s here too. He went to go check on him and found him hanging. Got him down and he survived but is hospitalised now.
Poor young bloke, only 20. Not one of our core crew, he was a Well Services contractor, but still hits home hard. 4 doors down from my room.
This COVID shite is taking more toll than just COVID infection deaths

First day of self-iso today.. working from home is good so far but I'm well aware I'm going to be bored of it very soon.
I'm enjoying working in my lounge wear though so that's definitely a win!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Thats horrible Kiwi, absolutely shocking and horrendous news.
I hope the guy gets the treatment and help he so desperately needs and you and the rest of your crew are ok and supported by the company as and if needed.
Glad he survived and hope he makes a full recovery. He's lucky to have a great dad and good mates that all love and care for him so much. Hopefully thats some comfort to him during his recovery and life going forward.
You stay strong and safe buddy

Re: What are you doing today ??
Thanks guys. We have all had counselling sessions here today. I really wasn’t sure wether to share it here or not, but it’s a valuable story I think. I don’t think there is a Tankslapper that wouldn’t lend an ear to someone in need, so FFS please no one let themselves get to that point without reaching out.
Any of you can message me whenever, I don’t know all the answers but I’ve dealt with my fair share of shite to offer some helpful advice or just listen to a therapeutic rant.

Fly out day, 2 weeks of night shifts ahead, yay
The only good thing to come out of the pandemic for me is the first week of work is in the quarantine village onshore so the actual offshore work swings are a week less.

Picking my lad up from school thank god
I've really enjoyed their company over lockdown but so glad they are back to school. Six months out it is alot, and they've missed so much. Its good to be finally giving them the same opportunity we've all had
