Well after the ride back home which was a short one as it started raining it performed great just as good as the more expensive options.Blade wrote:Rocket had one and was always praising it. Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
260 mile blat
Found a lovely route to Cheddar Gorge which I would happily do again. So glad I spent the time going through road map, google map street view and planning it in TomTom. On the way we had a little stop in a very gravel filled pull in and saw hang gliders doing there thing from a big hill which was cool.
When we got to Cheddar we had a nice bite to eat in a cafe then decided to pop over to Minehead to have a 30 min sit down by the beach as we got to Cheddar early enough....that's when things go interesting!
BiL bike broke down and had to wait for recovery. They couldn't do anything by side of road so had to get recovered back home. We was waiting by the side of the road for 2 hours in a neighbourhood which we barely made it to!

What is it with advanced lot, why do they always add in gravel roads in to their routes! Anyway other than a handful of gravel pit roads we got there and back safely. Nice warm dry weather. Prefect for biking. Went to Chichester Marina. Lovely bit of lemon drizzle cake! Only 6 of us in total but was a nice number. Wasnt a fast ride but a well disciplined one, I suppose I had my mad blat yesterday!!
Anyway well worth visiting if never been there. Been there once before with Advanced lot but that was a long time ago so couldn't really remember it

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I'm pretty sure the mapping was updated at the service last week. The bike seemed to have more Low down and mid range shove today even in sport mode.
That feeling of the front going light and the bike feeling a bit edgy is hard to beat as long as it all still feels under control. Which it did.
£160 for an annual service and updated mapping seems like a bargain to me.

Me and Perkles had a great Sunday out on the bikes.
Down to Bromsgrove then to Kidderminster on the old Kidderminster Road. Thru Kiddie then off to Quatt, then the Old Ludlow Road.
Bromford then Knighton then swinging back down to Leominster, Tenbury Wells and Martley before heading back.
Some amazing roads.

Washed it. It was filthy from the mud roads I took back from Cheddar last monday. Wasn't a proper in depth wash was just enough to take the crap off!

Not really my bike related as I cannot ride but went to Caffeine and Machine today, Perkles favourite.
You have to book at weekends in peak time just to park but I do understand why, it would over run otherwise.

A Lancia Stratos also turned up in Martini colours, my perfect car ever but it left before I could get a photo.

Second best car on display.
There was also an Aston Martin Superleggera but the owner didn’t come across well so no picture of that.

I did the burford loop ,the winchcombe to stow road is epic if you can get a clear run at it
Horrendous amount of stupid cage drivers on the way back,I got got pulled out on by an idiot coming out of a car boot sale and the abs did its job
I am either getting old or lost my bottle but I am struggling to feel comfortable on my bike at the moment

Is it time to swap the 200bhp supersport for something more road going?

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
230 miles around the Yorkshire Dales getting it splattered in bugs and exploring some nadgery back lanes that almost made me want a BMW GS. Slipping both tyres on gravel is not my idea of fun, or getting bounced out of the seat and landing a little too far forwards
.
On the more open and sweeping roads the SX did it's thing brilliantly, it's no 200bhp missile but it can hold its own... I do want to use those Vee discs as frisby's though, I'm really starting to hate them.
