Re: What are you doing today ??
Sitting in the caravan after a night of battling 50+mph winds. It's forecast to be the same all day and well into the evening today.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I don't know why, but I ised to love being in our touring van during stormy weather. The rain pattering on the roof. The swaying of the van. All snuggled up warm in the van having a lazy day reading a book or something. Never had TV. In our van. I refused to fit one as I liked getting away from that too.
Looked at caravans the other day as I'd like to get one again in a few years, and a 2006 model like what I sold for example is dearer now than 2 years ago.

Taking my mum for a coffee after work. I'm making sure I see as many people as I can this week before self isolating and becoming a limping hermit at home following surgery.

Day 3 of 9 in this bout of company iso
Enjoying the 37 deg C heat up here, it’s the dry season so not humid atm and loving it. Pool has been opened for 3 people at a time so made the place a bit more bearable.
Found out my daughters netball comp had a confirmed case of COVID last weekend but we didn’t go as she’s rolled her ankle the day before. Close call!! They practice very strict COVID management there, only one spectator per player, distancing etc so hopefully won’t cause an out break.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Our temps are pretty similar, but I’ve spent the last 4 weeks at home having highs of 12-15 deg C, still managed to just go for an hour walk. Thought you’d be fine in that heat for the amount of time you’ve lived there.D41 wrote:Dying in the heat today.
The temperature here is about a million.

I went the gym, got bored of TV, so cut the grass and thought it looks dry, the forecast must be wrong.Kwacky wrote:Furlough day. Slobbing out, bike serviced, gym, TV.
Nah the forecast was right, got on the bike but 20 miles from home it pis$ed it down.

Well if my stalking abilities are correct it’s even cooler in Garden Grove, CAD41 wrote:You do realize I moved from Orange about 4 years ago??
You still need to harden up about the weather

In fairness I do appreciate that I’m different to the norm and much prefer hot weather. I have no idea why as I grew up in NZ where the temps were much colder.

Garbage Grove??? Perish the thought.
I'm in Buena Park.
It's nice...it's very "suburban".
Very little business other than retail....and even then not much of that either.
Just housing estates...one after the other.

Oh yeah....Mary lives in Garden Grove - has done for about five years now.
But this is the northern part of Orange County.....a lot of the cities just kinda blend into one....there's not much separation - same builders, building the same floorplans all over the place, at roughly the same time. Even the tract names repeat themselves....sometimes concurrently, which seems a bit daft at first.

Re: What are you doing today ??
A lockdown wedding that isn't allowed to be a wedding
No party, no speeches, no top table, no dancing, in fact pretty much everything that isn't the bride and groom saying "I do" is answered by NO
Ironcially 30 members of family aren't allowed a private function room, in a hotel where we are all guests, to share a meal together. We all have to go and mingle in the main bar with the rest of the public and other hotel guests as that's the safest option when in lockdown
Maddness.

Oh.....I remember now.kiwikrasher wrote: At least I was closer!did you ever live there? The listing I found said the Darren was related to Mary (same last name). You sent me a part for the Daytona years ago so I still remember your last name
At some point after Mary & I split she asked me to co-sign on an apartment ....so I probably show up as living there on some stuff.
I'd totally forgotten about that, to be honest.

Well....Knott's & Medieval Times are for the tourists. It's not like I travel back to Newcastle Airport and start yelling "Take me to Durham Cathedral. Immediately!!" to the taxi driver, or anything like that.D6 wrote: And knots Berry farm theme park.

Which rock bar??

Rock bar opposite medieval times. I've not been to the tourist things. Just drove past them. Never have time. Just see Vance and Hines the hotel and maybe a bar. And that's it

Oh.... that's Rock & Brews... I've been there once just to try it out... haven't been there since.
The guys in Kiss own that place. I guess it's their own version of Hard Rock Cafe.
There was another place like that years ago that Bruce Willis & Arnold owned... that didn't last long either....Planet Hollywood, or something like that.
