Looks like a great place for snakes to hide out

In 10 yrs I’ve never seen one down there, I’ve only seen one ever on the property and it was a Red Bellied Black, and he was on my front door step

I have a bush Turkey (Lyre Bird) that visits quite regularly, and in his quest for bugs, quite nicely edges around all my trees, it’s rather handy

Other than that have quite a population of Kookaburras, Tawny Frog Mouth Owls, King parrots and Rosellas.

I’m sure there’s been more snakes than I’ve seen down the back though

Do you get the property nasty snakes and spiders where you are?

Yup, we get Eastern Browns which are the third most venomous snake globally. I’ve pulled one out of a friends pool and neutralised it with an axe, very hung over. Dawned on me later how foolish I’d been.

We also get funnel web spiders quite regularly, mainly in the gardens. They are the most venomous spider in the world. I’ve killed one and trapped two. After I killed the first one I encountered I was schooled to collect them if possible and drop at the local council. They send them to labs that milk them to create anti venom.

We get a bunch of other snakes and spiders that can mess you up in lesser degree but those two are the headliners.

Same as yesterday ! With some early Big Bang Theory thrown in, still the same amount of drugs. Which is good, as I was told to keep to one pain killer every four hours increase if needed. I have not needed so far. All the others are fixed.

Woke up to a surprise early Fathers Day by Jess and the kids. It’s in 2 weeks here but I’m back of to work after the weekend.

Got some of my favourite kiwi chocolates and a bottle of Monkey 47 Gin, chosen by my daughter because “it had a monkey on it” so accidentally picked one of my favourites

But the card was the best pick of all, they are pretty used to me being a zombie after night shifts or a few gins

I opened my mouth too early, I was on to double dose yesterday, In my whole life I had not been in so much pain as yesterday. I will stay on double dose for the weekend.

Long day but it went well.

Taking the religious side out of the service (since no one would provide a minister) actually makes for a much more personal service IMHO.

Just such a shame more could not have been their to pay their respects but it is totally understandable why.

My son has been given a great start to his adult life by his grandparents as his grandma left him her car (2013 Hyundai i10 with just 7k miles) and enough money to put down a deposit on his first house when the time comes. He was their only grandchild. He was quite taken aback when we told him.
