I looked into wrapping the D600 when i rebuilt it, it's not the cheaper option to painting, just a tank was going to be AU$350-400. The prep is just the same as painting, any imperfections will show through.

For the price Kwacky has been quoted for a paint repair which will keep the bike original, that would be my choice as well. The exes brother is a talented automotive spray painter and I've seen him blend in a paint repair on a car bonnet and you could't pick it at all.

Shame to hear your tank is bubbling up. I wonder what is making that happen. Whatever you decide as long as you are happy with the result that is all that matters in my opinion

It was probably poor prep to start with. But anything causing paint bubbling would cause wrap to bubble as well.

First off see if this guy can do a repair. If so I'll see how long it lasts.

Long term I need to remove the tank and have the interior sealed.

My logic was no point repairing a defect until you have eliminated the cause, otherwise you will be paying for a second repair.

Wrap was just a suggestion for the final finish as a different option to paint, its not suggested as a fix for bubbling paint.

I think the cause is ethanol in a plastic tank so wrapping or painting will most likely bubble again until the the tank is sealed first.

Seems the consensus on here is that its caused by poor prep when the tank was painted. Seems a common issue with MVs on that era.

Heating warning on the dash when wet got stuck at lights.

Later on I got a "malfunction" warning on the dash. Pulled over again and got an exhaust valve warning. Turns out it's not uncommon. Either the servo needs lubing, a cable needs adjusting or a cable needs replacing.

It's due a service so I'll get it in.

Other option is ditch the bulky servo motor and associated cables all together, which is what I did on my zx10r when I fitted the arrow end can.

Not with the servo or the HSE.

They list one and they have a guarantee and decent store to buy from if you fancied trying.

Maybe blag a free one as you offer to do a trail for him
