Re: The Hobby Thread
I always think vehicles like rhe M10 are a weird concept. You've got a fully armoured vehicle, and then no roof.

Re: The Hobby Thread
Yes but they were ambush vehicles. Tank killers. So would be hidden Hull down somewhere until they struck. Any return fire hitting their front armour. I know what you mean though. Looks vulnerable and probably was. I imagine it saved on weight and resources though not having to do a roof

Re: The Hobby Thread
Not having a turret has a lot of advantages in certain situations....as well as lower cost, easier & faster to build, etc. But they're defensive weapons for the most part, it seems.

Re: The Hobby Thread
Absolutely. That's why the German jagdpanther crews were drawn from the artillery regiments. Tiger, Panther crews, etc. never regarded them as being "real tankers".D6 wrote:Think of it as more like a mobile AT gun. Those guys didn't even have a tank round them
Frickin' losers.

Fuel tank is not lined up.
Looks fantastic....the weathering has a real depth to it. I wish I had your patience.
