Re: Ducati trackday Donington 12 May
Duke are there any more official Ducati Uk organised events potentially in the pipeline this year???
I would love to take the 1299 on track at least once, but its too noisy for a typical 102db day as is the standard bike tbh. I know there is an exemption if the bike has standard cans but I'm not sure mine qualify. There the offical Ducati , Akrapovic, road legal accessory end can with baffles fitted but not specifically the OEM standard can

Silverstone on, I think 6 July. They are attempting to find a new date for Donington but because it was a noisy day I think they are limited on choice.

Silverstone would be fun on a big Duc! It was pretty much 4th gear and up for me when I went there

A lot of people seem to have a got at Silverstone as a track day track but I have enjoyed it and its far from just being long straights.
Its supposedly popular in the MotoGp paddock too.

Re: Ducati trackday Donington 12 May
I'm not a fan of it although I would go back now I have proper suspension.
It isn't a 600 circuit. It's far too wide open which makes hitting an apex impossible for most. I'm 4th gear or higher most of the time. 5th for the first corner for example.
I don't think it's a bad circuit, it's just my least favourite.

There will be bikes there a lot noisier than your Pani Blade, the last one I did there was a few Desmo’s, now that’s noiseBlade wrote:Duke are there any more official Ducati Uk organised events potentially in the pipeline this year???

I didn’t go to Silverstone last year but I have been told a couple of bikes were taken off track for being too noisy. They have changed the rules there a little.

Re: Ducati trackday Donington 12 May
I think the noise limit in motogp is 130db so a Desmo with a race system could be close to that.
By in mind a 3db increase is a doubling of the sound level, then 130db is a quantum leap over a traditional 102db limited day. Looking at that you can see perhaps a few bikes may be asked to come off track.
God knows how Ducati ever got a Desmo road legal

Re: Ducati trackday Donington 12 May
I think my Racefit Growler is 115dB. In all honesty I can't tell the difference once a bike is over about 110... it just hurts more.

V4 Panigales with the full Akrapoivc system and no baffles were black flagged last year, just looked back on the thread. Silverstone are using ride by testing now.Blade wrote:I think the noise limit in motogp is 130db so a Desmo with a race system could be close to that.

Re: Ducati trackday Donington 12 May
Tbh that V4 Pani I had for a 260 mile test ride had a akrapovic system and the first thing I noticed when I got back on mine was it was a lot louder.
I guess I might struggle at Silverstone. Is Donny unlimited, no testing?

I think the noise sensor is on the back straight isn't it? I thought that was what they said but that was 4 years ago nowPerkles wrote:Donny is tested and a DBA meter as your going past the pits ,I got black fagged on a gsxr750 with full arrow systemBlade wrote:Tbh that V4 Pani I had for a 260 mile had a akrapovic system and the first thing I noticed when I got back on mine was it was a lot louder.

Tbh the 1299 is dam loud.
If i start it in the garage, it sets the Honda's alarm off and shakes the plates and crockery in the kitchen cupboards
I'm not a fan of loud pipes but it came with them and alledgely its road legal and I have never took the baffles out.

Re: Ducati trackday Donington 12 May
The Donington day was something like 108db from memory. They are apparently trying to reschedule it for August.
I don’t believe any v twin Panigales have ever been black flagged at a Ducati day. I like those days because they are so relaxed generally and no one is being a nob.
That said two women came together at the last one I went to.

That's a pretty harsh penalty!Perkles wrote:
