Re: Motogp Qatar cancelled
Cancelled due to quarantine restrictions in place if you have been in Italy in the last 2 weeks. Six italian riders in the 2020 motogp line up and one in particular is quite high profile.
Taken from the the Motogp website:
FIM, IRTA and Dorna regret to announce the cancellation of all MotoGP™ class sessions at the Grand Prix of Qatar, including the race.
The ongoing coronavirus outbreak has resulted in Qatar travel restrictions being brought into force that affect passengers from Italy, amongst other countries. As of today, all passengers arriving at Doha on direct flights from Italy, or having been in Italy in the past 2 weeks, will be taken straight to quarantine for a minimum of 14 days. Italy clearly plays a vital role in the Championship and in the MotoGP class - both on track and off - and therefore the decision has been taken to cancel premier class competition.

Interesting. Always fancied the 24 hr. Might have a look at that nearer the time, if the world is functioning again.

The world is shutting down.
There are going to be companies going bust all over the place at this rate.

Re: Motogp Qatar cancelled
WSBK Losail this weekend has been cancelled too.
I think we can assume all stuff for the foreseeable future is cancelled really.
Strange that F1 is on this weekend given all the other cancellations.

McLaren have dropped out though....if one or two more follow suit then it'll possibly have a cascade effect on the remaining teams.

Re: Motogp Qatar cancelled
What with the likelihood of seeing no racing for some months to come, Ducati offer possible solution of running two rounds over two consecutive weekends at the same track.
Would certainly be interesting and better than no racing at all.

Re: Motogp Qatar cancelled
My gut feeling is that international travel for things like racing won't be happening this year.
