I can't see him returning to the works Yamaha Team to race unless someone gets injured and he stands in for a race or two .
I think that his talents would have been more useful to Ducati because of the problems with turning that they suffer with are the areas that Jorge excels in whereas the Yamaha doesn't appear to have any problems in that area . Maybe thats why Yamaha have signed him up so Ducati can't.

The thing is though Duke, you find a test rider who can consistently run at the sharp end of motogp, he is no longer a test rider he is a motogp rider or just about to become one anyway.

i Would guess the best attribute of a test rider is to be able to feel and explain how changes reflect the bike.

I cannot remember who it was (tho it may have been Foggy) but there was one rider who admitted himself that he didn’t have a clue how changes effected the bike but he knew how to win races.

Joey Dunlop was one of those. There was a tale doing the round about him complaining that the suspension was too soft. After 3 total resets and new set ups one of the mechanics clocked he meant it was too hard.
