I'm about half way though. He doesn't seem too keen on the KTM when he's off road, does he?

He doesn't seem keen on the KTM at all but then the verdict changes... it's a little odd.
He didn't seem too keen with the KTM on road either at the beginning

Worth watching to the end. It seems the Adventure R is the much better option.
If it were my money and i intended using the bike off road, then i would go with the Yamaha.

The Yamaha looks right offroad.. much more ground clearance. I think I'd want to upgrade the suspension though as if it's like other cheap bikes it'll be the suspension that cops it

I wonder if the Versys will go more adventure style when it gets it's upgrade next year?

It's certainly a current trend isn't it. I imagine they'll keep the versys as it's very popular but they may make an alternative version of the same thing. Offroad wheels (19" front / 17" rear?) and a stiffer shock spring plus fairing changes I imagine
