Re: Silly Money
Definitely collectable and collectors are known for spending silly money... so you never know their luck!

Re: Silly Money
The minute its used its worth no more than any other Sp2.
Problem is money in the bank makes nothing and is actually at risk to a point, so people investing in these things, is, at the moment at least, safer and working more for you, than money in the bank.

Re: Silly Money
SP2 owners do tend to have a distorted view of what something is worth, with wide fluctuations of value usually depending on whether they are selling an item or buying one

Re: Silly Money
I would say a clean used one is 8 to 12k depending on condition, mileage and upgrades.
That seems to be the market value.
20k for a new one seems alot imo, but if someone is daft enough it's worth trying I guess.

Re: Silly Money
You see a few of these new old stock motorcycles on the market occasionally. Was an RD 250 LC a while ago. I wonder what they really sell for. Certainly not the listed price.

Re: Silly Money
I would say it's a collectable. Someone has held onto it and never even tried it. But like someone has already said if it is run that will drop in value. Personally it would be better to hold onto it with zero miles on the clock and use it in a personal collection

Re: Silly Money
Ive got a SP2 that I've had for 14 years. Its a fantastic bike, with 10k on the clock its a 2004 model. But i don't see it as a 8K bike. I would rather sell it for a usable bike, than not be used. Sorry not for sale.
