The general election was being pushed by people who aren't happy with the results of the last election and want another go at it in the hope that this time it works out in their favour.

My betting is there could well be another coalition Government.

And the odds on Johnson losing his own seat? What are they? I bet the odds are not that great as he doesn’t have a big majority in the scheme of things. That would be hilarious.

I heard part of the Jeremy Vine show on Radio 2 today, where they were talking to listeners who were undecided or thinking of voting differently from their usual choice.
Pretty much every caller who rang in was conflicted, because their preferred choice would be "a waste, because they won't get in here".
Surely proportional representation would allow everyone to make the choice that would prefer, without feeling that voting would be a waste of time & that they are less involved in the outcome.

My MP has a 23000 majority and when so many people only ever vote for one Party regardless of what is the manifesto, I cant see me ever making a difference

If we had PR, I presume every seat is up for grabs regardless of how the locals vote. I bet that would focus a few lazy minds..

Javid is my MP. He looks secure but his wing margin dropped from 23,000 to 10,000 at the last election. People can be removed. Always have faith.

Still would love to see Johnson lose his seat. Relatively small majority in a Remain part of the country, on the doorstep of Heathrow with a new runway in the pipeline seems like a recipe for a shock.

Personally I think Boris's position may be stronger than we credit him with.

I'm all for PR, and I'd love to see the Greens get proportional representation in parliament. The BREXIT party and UKIP not so much.

The representatives would reflect ratio of the opinions that were expressed by the electorate.
Some of us may dislike the views of those partys, but in balance those who would vote for them would probably hold similar opinions about your views.?

At least people would be more inclined to be involved if they knew every vote actually meant something.?
I think we all agree that something dramatic needs to change with politics, and that would seem a least disruptive option to try first.?

That sounds like the referendum on leave or stay, keep having a referendum 'til we get a remain result.
As for the candidate being a maverick, my MP voted as he said he would, I'm sure he will do as he says he will.
He will get my vote.

There seems to be a lot of MP's bailing out this time around, probably concerned that they won't get voted in again.

I have a good job, but I'm at the age of not giving a s**t about things anymore. United Ireland will be next, not until Queenie has passed tho'

Well at least Boris has refused to do a deal with the Brexshit Party. First sensible decision he has made.

Tho in view of the fact he said we would now have definitely left the EU or he would be dead in a ditch, I’m not sure his word is worth jackshit.
