Re: What you watching?
Well, in Trump's world everything that goes right is his doing, & everything that goes wrong is someone else's doing.
The guy is a caricature of what a president is supposed to be.

1 million people in California don't have access to clean water
There are 2 million illegal immigrants working in California. When they offered the work to Americans, only 12 applied and none lasted more than a week.

Re: What you watching?
Just watching those people living inside that railway bridge almost reduced me to tears. What a very sad and sick Nation the US is.
And that lady didn't want to leave and get a job as she knew she would be working simply to pay her rent. That will be Britain in 20 years time if some Tories have their way.

And yet California's economy is larger than the UK's, despite the UK'S 40% advantage in numbers??

I watched that too. Awful, all the tents in the streets.
Rich on the back of the poor. Too much inequity.

But its destroying the land and destroying many of the people living in it.D41 wrote:And yet California's economy is larger than the UK's, despite the UK'S 40% advantage in numbers??
Interesting that he said that because rich Americans are so averse to paying tax that the infrastructure of much of the Country is now so old that it is starting to fall apart.

Re: What you watching?
That's what we're seeing here. People complain about a lack of schools, hospitals, the state of the roads, but can't join the dots and realist that if the large companies pay tax it wouldn't be an issue.

The people on L.A.'s skid row aren't there because of a poor economy....it may be a contributing factor, but it's not the deciding factor. They're there because they're mentally ill...and with that goes a whole host of other problems that manifest themselves with even more physical & mental ailments. It's a never-ending cycle.

Its more the lack of affordable housing and support for people who are poor or struggling. The US doesnt seem to have sympathy for anyone if they are not useful at any point in time.
Some may well be mentally ill but i wonder what caused that? Maybe being poor and downtrodden.
When someone has to live in the dark in a section of bridge, you've got to wonder.....

No. It's not bullsh!t at all, it's the reality of it, and disagreeing with it doesn't change it one bit, not one bit at all.Kwacky wrote:Absolute bullshit.D41 wrote:The people on L.A.'s skid row aren't there because of a poor economy....it may be a contributing factor, but it's not the deciding factor. Re: What you watching?
No it really is bullshit.
I doubt many of those living in the USA are aware of those appalling scenes in that programme last night.
Jumping from the obscenity (and to be honest - downright hideous) home of Beyoncé to those living in tents in the streets is a shameful indictment of the US economy and it’s politicians. It’s a society doomed to failure. And pretty soon by the looks of it.

Re: What you watching?
Well, I'd hazard a guess that Beyonce's home is not exactly "representative" of the average American household, but if that's the benchmark you want to go by then it's fine by me.
And we're not "doomed to failure", or anything like that at all, that's just ridiculous.
