Popped into the dealer today as I was just round the corner.

It's proper broke. They've replaced 2 of the major ESA components and it's still showing the fault.

Next step is to get the factory involved and basically plug the bike into Germany so they can do advanced diagnostics. Thank God for the EU and freedom of days movement..

The service is exceptional, the lady I was talking to checked to make sure I was still ok with the car. I know the summer is slipping by she said, so if you want to swap to a bike just let me know.

Away for the weekend, but may take her up on the offer if it's still not fixed next week. Wonder in there's a 2019 RR kicking about

Erm, yes and no.

I spoke to them yesterday about getting the GS back in for it's first service, and asked about the XR. No progress. I commented on the fact they had previously said they where under resourced and could we get someone else involved to speed up the process. Ensuring I said that I in no way blame them that is taken this long.

Today I get a call saying they have tried one last thing and are still at a loss on the fault so the are sending the bike up to Northampton where they have more techs and one who specialises in electronics.

I'm planning on finding out when it gets there and then giving it a week, after that I'm going to have to try a different tact.

Tbh probably better the longer you have a courtesy bike is it not?

It's there bike that's racking up miles and needs servicing and tyres etc...

Also yes and no.

In principle yes, I'm happy to be racking up miles on other people's vehicles (getting on 2k now). But no, I bought the XR for the comfort and performance combined. The 5 series was nice, but not for traffic and the GS is ok but a little dull.

I'm also paying the finance and insurance for a bike I can't ride.

Northampton BMW was where my Tuono came from. Wollaston I think was the name. At least they are not fobbing you off with a dodgy repair but like you say you are paying for something you can’t use which is very frustrating.

I think I would be getting to the stage of wanting another bike or my money back.

Was going to say, surprised they haven't just given you a new bike and taken your bike off for inspection, out of your hair then and they have less to deal with. But they know what they are doing and to be honest they have dealt with you well

You may be paying for a bike you can't ride, however, you're paying for a second hand bike and riding a brand new bike. What would be great is if they had a brand new version of your bike then you would really be happy

FWIW, I would go out of my way to buy from that garage as they seem to be really looking after you well !!
