Looks like the Triumph 675-Dark....and not in a good way. Matte is very hit & miss...usually miss, but only really works if the bike is monotone. Looks garish.
Proportions are spot-on for such a small bike, except the exhaust---which is even bigger than J-Lo's ass.

A quick google and the thing people are most excited about are the winglets on the mirrors... obviously that'll help the race teams achieve something

Has something of a KTM look going on at the front, to my eyes.

Is the rear subframe part of the same casting as the main frame.? -Sure looks like it may be.

I expect Akrapovic & the other players will be readying themselves for a good demand for something "less substantial" than those monsters

On a side note, a mate of mine is looking at buying an RC390 and converting it into a race bike. If I was in the position to do it I would do the same thing and start endurance racing with him - I think it would be hilarious fun

I don't mind the look of it so much. Ok nothing matte black ad I'm not into that. My biggest concern is why on a sports inspired bike do they insist on high handlebars. Do they need it to be as high as that. You don't expect to see high bars on an Aprillia 50 or 125 so why do Honda and Kwack insist on it?

Those clip ons are just clearing the fairing.

Look at the Motogp bikes and you will see many of the riders are riding with their bars almost flat, presumably for more leverage.

Low clip ons seem to be a thing of the past.

I don't like that feel to be honest. For me it doesn't make it more comfortable but less comfortable. I prefer low down bars just makes me feel more plugged in, in my opinion. Makes sense on race bikes for leverage but they aren't as high as this

I didn't think they are that small anymore? I thought they are basically a tad smaller than the 600s but not by a lot (obviously weight is a huge difference). Back in the day a 125 was noticeable different

Issues I have are when a kid jumps onto a RR bike they want a sports feel, a 250 (is what I test rode years back) and it feels nothing like a 600RR which in my opinion detaches the rider and makes them believe that a sports bike is easy to ride and gives a different impression of what is expected when jumping on a 600+ Sportsbike. I'll be honest I hated the 250RR and never bought one due to that feeling but I loved my 600RR and that thing was quick and comfortable IMO but nothing remotely the same about them bar the fairings.

I understand it's still a learners bike (250/300) though so from an easier ride point it does make sense, it's just I don't like that

the problem with low set bars is 90% of riders sit on the bike complete wrong. All their weight is on their wrists and bars and dead straight arms. Makes me want to slap them all every time i see it. It just compromises your ability to control the bike effectively. So having entry level bikes with higher bars and a more upright position is far more preferable for new habit forming imo.
