Small tight circuit?
Same tyres?
Same racer test pilot?
Stock suspension settings or fine tuned for each bike?
Quickshifter or blippers on either of them?
If a truly fair test then 1 second on any circuit isn't a lot but if that's 1 second on a fast long circuit then holy crap!!!
Small tight circuit? - doesn't look like it.
Same tyres? - stock tyres as they come on the bike
Same racer test pilot? - Yes
Stock suspension settings or fine tuned for each bike? - Stock, as they come on the bike
Quickshifter or blippers on either of them? - Whatever comes as standard on the bike.
Both bikes are out of the crate straight from the dealer with no changes at all. They use an ex BSB racer for both bikes. He does the same number of laps.
I can't work out which circuit it is. It looks like it runs anti-clockwise which narrows it down.
Mostly fair then although the S1000RR has the advantage in the tyre category as they come with K3 Metzelers I believe.
I'm amazed they're 1 second a part with that factored in... Almost implies the XR is the faster bike to be honest. It probably came down to how easy the XR is to ride given they had the same number of laps

It's surprisingly easy to ride at sensible speeds, on the vfr I was mainly running at 90 on the motorways and a roads with the beema it's more like 70-80.
On the back roads in dynamic it's something else. It's so light round a corner and tracks every line you give it. The suspension is like nothing else I've ever experienced. Judging by the chicken strips on the rear tyre and the runs I've been doing on familiar roads, I'm never going to get anywhere near the limits of this thing.
