Finished off Chernobyl last night. Jeez what an amazing bit of telly, I never realised that the Soviet Union never actually accepted the real death toll number. Still to this day is only 31, absolutely disgusting to be honest.

Last nights' Catch 22 was very grim. I had forgotten the impact the book had had on me when I read it all those years ago.

Re: What you watching?
The IT Crowd is very good. Seems to get better and better as time went on as well.
Me and my misses have been watching Grand Tour - got one more episode left to watch of series 3
I've been watching - The Man In The High Castle and I've got 7 episodes left of series 3.
Then I want to start to watch Good Omens at some point!
My misses has been watching Orange Is the New Black which I've been stepping in and out of

Re: What you watching?
I've only seen about 3x of these, as I found they were clashing with work & so set the series to record. (Anyway, that allows me to skip past the adverts, which is always a big plus).Kwacky wrote:Last nights' Catch 22 was very grim. However what I have noticed is that the humour is not as evident as it seemed in the book. That is not to say that it isn't there, it seems they've covered everything pretty well so far imho. I suspect that, when reading the book, you absorb everything -every detail, every quip quirk & absurdity is forced onto you by the action of reading. However when we're viewing whole the spectacle, there is so much to take in all the time that his dark humour can sometimes be almost missed in the overall spectacle.?

Re: What you watching?
The humour is there but I think you're right about the book, there's more of a build up to the punchline.
I think there's also been a decision to make sure that the TV series doesn't copy the film too much and the film captures the humour very well IMO

S3 E2 of stranger things.
How to start the massive F1 rocket engine on youtube

And another video on how they developed that engine

Also noticed that Apollo 13 has appeared on Netflix... Might have to watch that tomorrow, I still have it on VHS but the VHS machine died years ago.
