I was reading the tributes to other riders who've died on the peak.....one guy crashed & died after crossing the finish line! That's gotta suck....a true "Silver Dream Racer" moment.

IIRC the finish line has about 50m of tarmac before turning into a gravel car park.

Tragic news though, surviving the entire stretch of dangerous tarmac then dying after completing it
