Something totally different...
I haven't posted much lately. Well, I say lately, over the last year I've been posting less and less.
I mentioned a bit back that it was probably due to the pressure of the possibility of my contract not getting extended at work and me facing unemployment/homelessness etc...
That chapter has passed now, and I thought to myself the other day as I registered on the new site "I really should post more". Perhaps I think my opinion isn't worth posting, or if someone else has posted what I was thinking then I won't bother. I think it's time to end this chapter as well.
So it's time to start posting and boring you all with nonsense and ramblings.
First off, and it's nothing to do with bikes or biking, the dog.
On Remembrance Day last year, this little fella was born...
His name is Ozzy, and has quickly become an integral part of our household when we brought him home in January. He's made friends with the kids quite quickly...
...well, I say made friends, he's mainly okay with Holly but because Finn is smaller and less confident, Ozzy treats him like a sheep and tries to round him up all the time. It's not a massive issue, we're working on it. Especially with the nipping!
He does a lot of this...
And here we are now, he's just over 4 months, growing fast and keeping us all on our toes.
He's gone through 3 chew toys, 2 kids teddies, a blanket and his puppy collar. He's also an accomplished thief, stealing to date 2 slices of bread, 1 croissant, 3 helpings of Holly's breakfast and 2 helpings of Finn's! He's puked on me, christened every room on the ground floor with pee and poo, caused us some sleepless nights and early mornings and had us pulling our hair out for a bit.
But honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. Not when you take into account the fun, laughs and joy he's brought into the house.
That's all for now, hope you enjoyed my inane ramblings taking you away from biking for 2 minutes!

I hope on Tankslap that everyone feels that their post is worth posting and that no one feels they're above or beneath anyone else. So I'm pleased to see you're happy to be posting again.
Your mutt looks lovely. That's a decent growth from him.
That photo of Ozzy and your daughter is a keeper. A great snap for the family album.
My wife isn't a dog person. She doesn't understand what it means for me to have a dog in the house. It turns it into a home. My son loves our boxer.
Here's my latest pet:-

Dogs are the best, it's the unconditional love they have for their owners that gets me the most.
They're also a hell of a lot easier to train than kids. Shame Mrs Nutz doesn't like them.

A dog is with you for a short part of your life, but you're with the dog for all of its time here. Like you say, it's unconditional.

I'm more of a cat person myself, but have to say I'd rather have a dog than a spider...

Re: Something totally different...
We have two cats and because my wife could not have kids there are treated like her children which normally means they are fed before me and have most of my wife's attention, and they sit between us on the sofa at night lol
I get knocked down but i get up again.
Re: Something totally different...
Second pic looks good, but the lighting and colour in the the first pic makes him look evil....

Don't mind spiders, snakes etc and a good dive is one I see a shark or two, I'm just cautiously respectful of the versions of the fore mentioned species that are poisonous or include humans on their food chain. The pity of it all is, just because a sub section of these creatures are dangerous, the majority opinion treats the lot as vermin to be eradicated.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

You're right mate, mum and dad both Borders. Not the most common of colours, I'd never seen it before until I met the mum. She's gorgeous, once we saw her that was it, we booked Ozzy before he was born!StMarks wrote:Ozzy the Dog looks a true character Itchy, some strong Collie genes in there IMO mate. Lucky guy.

Re: Something totally different...
I love border collies and had one many years ago, but not with such lovely colouring! They do grow into part of your family, routine and love so very quickly.
I've always loved dogs, my two have been documented on TS before a few times. Zak and Nell are getting on now 10 plus years olds, which is getting a little older for Ridgebacks, but my my they have enchanted my life over the last 10 years or so.
Great post itchy, we should celebrate what we have. We all have different lives.
