Dumped pushbike for the AT to commute today. Sun bursting out the sky, might sneak away early this afternoon...

At last the fairings arrived for the 999, so started to put some of them together and got round to fitting the tail unit.

Stuck it in gravel mode and tried out some of the back roads around the local farms. Nothing too dramatic but dusty, muddy and gravelly narrow lanes. It sounds daft given its design but I was pleased with how well the bike did.

No experience off road but if it inspires confidence and makes the ride effortless that has to be a good bike for the job, and not surprising really, but equally good to be reassured as you say.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Surprised a dude on a pantigirdle..
He'd been following me for a bit and then decided to overtake. Then as we turned a corner he blatted it, front lifting in the first 3 gears so dutifully I followed suit. Ok, so I wasn't up his arse but I was a lot closer than he expected me to be

Took the Multi for an evening blast.
I do love being out on a summers evening. One of bikings best parts of the day.
Rear tyre is taking a battering.

I tried to plug the puncture in the Versys but the kit is a bit crap. I've got a better kit somewhere so I'll dig that out. I was going to go out on the MV but my dad just called to say he was coming over
The AT has had a good wash and wax.

Gave these two a bit of TLC. Gave the vfr a polish with the colour enhancing wax and it came up a treat. Shame to get it dirty now.
Also noticed a crack in the exhaust on the ktm, the point at the rear where it splits into two.. might have to get it welded before it gets any worse.

Washed and polished it, and for the first time in a year of ownership I adjusted the chain, so easy on a single sided swing arm.
Also fitted the new side stand peg, the stainless bolt which i fitted on Wednesday is bent already.

It probably would be if the nuts weren't over torqued. I did the same to the vfr and had to get a hammer out to shift the locking nut.Stonesie wrote: I adjusted the chain, so easy on a single sided swing arm.

It's common for the eccentric chain adjuster to seize on SSSA bikes if they are not cleaned and lubed now and again.
It's worth removing and cleaning now and again when commuting in all weathers.

I went to Streetbike this morning to buy the Konx jacket.
I rode back through Netherton and Dudley. Not something I would shall do but was a nice change to do something different.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Bit pissed off, fitted some new rear pads ready for MOT on Saturday but learnt that whoever owned the bike before me was a muppet (I already knew that to be honest) but they had stripped all the thread in the rear caliper mount so now gotta sort all that. I know it wasn't me as its the first time I have had it off. Found a few dodgy bolts where stuff has been stripped or over tightened and damaged bits. some people shouldn't be allowed tools!
Remember: If in Doubt use Full Throttle, It may not make the situation any better, But it will end the suspense...
