Bugger, just realised I've double booked myself with a race that weekend. Sorry rossgo I'm going to have to bail this time

Re: 6th April Wales Run
We need to get a few ride outs sorted this year.
Wales is good as can be quite central for most people.

Re: 6th April Wales Run
I'm looking at doing another Wales run on Monday 15th July If I can get the day off. Unsure if that's good for anyone else?

Sorry can't do the 15th Rossgo but could do the 8th the week before if that suits you.

Re: 6th April Wales Run
I've been out much of today in the bike and it's quite astonishing how much traffic is on the roads these days. It doesn't matter what day of the week it is now, the best option seems to be get up and out early in the day.

Re: 6th April Wales Run
Can't do the 8th but 10th or 11th I'm free. I could do a post and give a range of dates but they will be mid week (horrors of shift work - but the love of free roads during the day!!)

Re: 6th April Wales Run
Defo duke. I tend to go on rides early morning not mid morning or afternoon. I prefer the mornings as I feel more fresh anyway.

Re: 6th April Wales Run
Weather isn't lookong too bad. Maybe a odd spot of rain here and there but shouldn't be anything to bad. I'll keep this updated tomorrow and make a final call on Friday evening due to weather.
I'll add a time to meet at Gloucester service station tomorrow at some point. So at least we know where and when we will be meeting
Looking forward to this

With Mother in law still in hospital, I wont be able to make this.
Wouldn't be fair to leave the wife on her own all day.

Re: 6th April Wales Run
Ok so we are now umming and arwwing about the Wales day.
We still want to go but if it's cold like today then it won't be much fun.
Option 1
Here is the postcode for the meet point in Gloucester
GL2 9DW
Shell petrol station
This route could get changed so it doesn't include Aber but instead goes to Brecon Beacons Newtown and crossgates all depending on weather
Option 2
We head to Lucy's Tea Room for a breakie/ cake.
Meet at Calcot Sainsbury's A4 Reading
This call will be made tomorrow evening
Either way I will be going out, I need to get out

Re: 6th April Wales Run
If it's cold I'll probably want to do a short run and I'll certain be on the Africa Twin. I'm not risking the MV on cold wet (and probably salted) roads.
Do you want to meet at Lucy's for Breakfast? If people want to stay out for a ride after then they can do.
You can look to do a longer run next month when it's going to be warmer.
Just my suggestion.

Re: 6th April Wales Run
I do not blame you matey. I fully understand that Kwacky.
This is exactly what we are thinking. Plus Lucy's is a nice distance and grrat food.
Forgot to mention we would be meeting up at Calcot Sainsbury's approx 8am if this is where we decide to go. (Time is approximate at the moment)

Re: 6th April Wales Run
As for a fun at a later point
I.am trying to get off Monday 15th and Tuesday 17th July
Unsure if any one would be keen in a beginning of the week run to Wales (weather dependent)?
