Lucy's Tea Room 6th April
So me and a couple of others are planning to go over Wales way (Aberystwyth) for the day
Unsure of times yet but this will get looked at closer to the time
Anyone else free and fancy getting out?
Let us know here
Leaving from Berkshire area would be nice and early meet up and wuite possibly a late return - it will be a full days riding (Guess 500mile round trip if with us)
EDIT - whoever would want to join we can easily meet on route, I know crossgates is a popular meeting area just across the border!

Re: 6th April Wales Run
Always up for a run into Wales, will need to confirm nearer the time so don't forget to bump the thread.

Ok no worries fellas. This is obviously still weather dependent which I forgot to mention lol. But other than that I need a proper ride!

Dam I'm working or would have loved it.
Hopefully be other Welsh runs as you can't beat a day in Wales on the bike.

Re: 6th April Wales Run
That's a shame Blade but will be other days to do it. I tend to get more week days off so may have to arrange one for a average work day and hope to stay away from the traffic

Re: 6th April Wales Run
Just a little update on this (still got a month before this date anyway but better to update now before I forget)
So what we are thinking will be to head towards the Beacons and ride through there then head towards Aber. From Aber head towards Newtown then cross gates then back.
Kwacky if you did decide to meet us then maybe Gloucester would be a good place to meet on route. It's about equal distance for the both of us to meet jist need to find a convenient service station to stop at.
More details as time gets closer

Re: 6th April Wales Run
Been doing some work on these routes.
Total mileage is approx - 430
Saddle time is approx - 9hrs ( this includes a mix of motorway, dual carriage way and also A and B roads) from my area
Prob want an hour stop in Aber for food drink etc
This route will see us head to Gloucester, Crickhowell, Aber, Newtown, cross gates, Birmingham down M40 then back home
Some spots I'm unsure about the roads but easy enough to redirect sat nav
Found a shell garage along the A40 in Gloucester postcode
GL2 9DW
Think this would make a perfect meeting point can grab fuel while there too

Re: 6th April Wales Run
I think some years back we all met in Gloucester for this sort of run into Wales.
Just adding my two pence, getting there has some fun roads, via Henley, Wantage, Farringdon, letchlade, fairford and Cirencester.....

This is perfectly from Gloucester meet point to Aber then across to Crossgates. Some of these are A roads but should be fun ones lol
