Had a great day but the bike broke so had to limp it home after lunch... we weren't allowed to take our own so was a bit annoyed. Going back home next week to do some with my grandson.
It's put the fun back into two wheels again

My fear was my strength would let me down, especially over some of the more demanding areas but although it was hard work at times the different techniques I was taught really helped and didn't cause me to hold others up... in fact it was a man in his 40's who had done a bit of offloading before who had the major problems... he must have fallen off at least 10 times throughout the day

I'd done a few laps of my field to get used to the boots but that's about it .

One thing if anyone did try it with the same people a bit of advice... take your own kit as the stuff I had was useless... because I'm quite small nothing fitted and a lot of the gear was broke. My zip on my jacket was knackered so could only do it up with velcro, visor broke on my helmet and had to remove it in the end and some of the armour had straps missing or broke. It's not a cheap day so would expect better equipment.

My bike broke as well so had to cut the day short , I knew it had a problem in the morning and told the organisers what I thought was wrong, but was told it may be just a slow puncture .. after lunch I couldn't get it to go in straight line and battled for another hour until I threw in the towel . There were no replacements and only had the 2 smaller bikes in the fleet

Doesn’t bode well for the future of the business if you can’t afford to repair/replace faulty kit and machinery.

Glad you had a good time despite the schools shortcomings BB, sounds like the serial crasher had been bigging himself up first thing in the morning. Never good when you can’t see the track for the egg on your face.

The steering head bearings had gone and you could feel the steering drop.

The cost was 225.00 for the day with maximum of I think 10 people.

There were 6 new bikes but it was the 2 smaller ones which were old and not maintained which was disappointing. I was offered to dump the bike by the hedge and hitch a lift with a volunteer... I felt better just getting back but was a battle all the way and with a few drops on some parts of the trail I'd rather trust my own skill or lack of

That's not good about the protection of expect better too. Shame about the bike I guess they should be looking after their bikes as its not like they travel on smooth tarmac but across hard terrain. But hope you had a good day none the less. Could you ask for a bit of a refund for only experiencing a part of the day?
