Oh and IMHO it's quite polite of them to come round & tell you in person that they're not proceeding after all (because "Ginny has decided it has the wrong colour carpet in the hall" ) -Rather than just letting their Solicitor email the reply tomorrow.?Kwacky wrote:Our buyer is coming round tonight.....

Re: Possible house move
So we exchanged today but didn't complete.
But we've got a special licence which allows us to take possession of the house we're buying.
So I own two houses at present

Cool, that should make the actual move much easier for you. Assuming the house your buying has been vacated.

We're moving today but we don't have to hand our keys over until some time next week. The house we're buying is vacant, I went over last night and picked the keys up.

So,,,,, Are you going to "tempt fate" & unpack everything when you've moved it across. Or are you going to live out of packing boxes for a few days.?
Anyway.: "Happy New House Day" to all the Kwacky Clan .!!

Re: Possible house move
Blimey. A year ago this weekend. It feels like we've been in the house for ages but the move itself certainly doesn't feel like a year ago.
I'm glad we moved, it was the right decision. Everyone seems to be much happier. We've got lots more space and there's a lot of uncertainty about the development of where we used to live, so the timing is spot on.

Re: Possible house move
The road we lived on was just off a main road but it was very quiet. On the corner of our road and the main road is an old shop. There's a planning application to make it a multi-occupancy house.Blade wrote:Time flys. Glad your happy in the new home.

The other end was by a river and parkland. A really nice spot. The road that runs along the river has no houses. There's a small factory on the corner of our road and the river road which does mountaineering equipment. It's got a really fancy Art Deco front. Lovely building set back from the road and mostly hidden by a well kept garden. You wouldn't know it was there from our house. . He's selling up and the plan is to turn it into apartments. Not sure how much they can do as the frontage is listed but it does cover a decent area and it's only the front that protected. You could get half a dozen houses on the plot.
Behind the factory running along the river road is empty land. Tesco bought it 20 years ago and did nothing to it. Then they sold it to Seven Capital. They plan to turn it into mixed use including flats, houses, shops and a drive through. The best way to get to it will be down our old road.
