Quickshifter Recommendations

... Interestingly though once up in top gear, the spanner man used the clutch to shift it all the way back down to first.

Presumably just because there would be no load on the wheel/gearbox if the wheel was in the air?

Even the basic model MVs have auto blippers and up and down quickshifters as standard.

Which is why I couldn't work out why the Speed Triple doesn't have one as standard.

Tbh I think even the up only qs on my bike was an optional extra.

Dead straight forward to fit pal. If you can change spark plugs you can fit a quickshifter.

It has to be said that I think the downshifting is more useful on the road than the upshift. Also gives a cleaner shift in most instances.

The reason I believe they might not be fitted as standard is because the manufacturers think the gearbox is not strong enough. My Multi is not fitted with one and Ducati do not offer it as an accessory but it is on the new 1260.

A lot of Ducati dealers don’t recommend them if Ducati don’t offer one for your bike.

Makes sense. Glad I have the official Triumph accessory then, which I think is made for them by Translogic but hopefully its tested and approved by Triumph to a high standard of reliability.

Should be easy to fit, I did mine in a couple of hours but spent quite a bit of time routing the cables (bloody naked bikes)

The only advice I can offer is that of you have software to alter the shift force and kill times then it's worth spending the time doing it. With the default settings on mine it was lurching a bit as the kill time was too long, and the sensitivity was too low as well as I kept getting false kills. Twins do cause issues with vibrations though...

Ah, nice. The healtech does similar, but it also comes with a phone app that has loads of settings to fine the the experience.

Was handy as the QS was killing on downshift which was ruining my throttle blips!

Yeah Rocket had one and said it was a good quickshifter with easy adjustability via the phone app.

I didnt realise it had different kill times for each gear and variable kill times for different rpm rev ranges if it does that's a bloody bargain and great bit of kit.

I think the spec must have gone up and the price come down as the technology has become more main stream which is always good.

It's the Translogic iS4. Apprently doesn't need any setting up. QS gets a set up for each individual bike, so no matter what happens it's always going to be seamless. I've watched some videos and even one from Lamb Chop Rides in YouTube and he says it's the best he's tried. Wont be able to get it fitted until October so have a bit of a wait but really can't wait to try it out. I loved them on the 1000s I've tried just a shame there's no auto blipper lol

Also blade, triumphs ones are made by Translogic, my mate said thats what his is on his bike. He's had 2 or 3 triumphs with it and he's said they are fantastic

Cheers Blade. It may of taken almost a year after posting this OP for this thread but i get there eventually lol!! Been using clutchless upshifts today and although OK it's not a QS!!

Received confirmation that the delivery company dropped my QS into a neighbour. I also asked my partner to print off the instructions. I've read them once but I'm going to go through it all again 2hile taking a look at the kit to familiarise myself with it
