House move and holiday means I'll have to find some time to sort out Wales and Milan details later on.

Do we want to start looking at booking flights and hotels for Milan?
I've booked the Friday off work.

Cookie might do, if Jane will let him
I'll ask Perkles, see if he's still up for it.

Good flights from Manchester.
Midday outbound and midday return.
£51 with Ryanair
Or
£100 with flybe.
Obviously Ryanair are the cheapest but they keep cancelling flights due to strikes so not that confident of getting there and subsequently loosing money on hotels and show tickets.

Which Milan airport do they go into?
We can get flights into Malpensa on the Friday lunchtime and back on the Sunday afternoon.

Ryan air fly into Bergamo
And
Flybe fly into Malpensa
Both flights are around midday in and out so decent times.

Malpensa is an easier trip into MIlan. There is a direct train from the airport terminal.
Bergamo doesn't have a direct train link and the airport bus is the better way into Milan from Bergamo from my experience.
That said there is not a lot in it.

Not sure if people are aware but the Sunday is the centenary Armistice Day with alot of big events across Europe to pay respect and remember the loss and ultimate sacrifice made by so many.
As an option I 've looked at going a day earlier 8th to 10th and flights are cheaper.
£34 for a return flight from Manchester with good midday flight times.
Just a suggestion and realise for some it means 2 days off work. The bonus is obviously home for Armistice Centenary, cheaper flights and the show would be quieter on the Friday.
Food for thought as don't know if everyone will have realised the clash.

I'm going to have a chat with Mrs Nutz, wales was going to be my weekend away this year but I may have to update (upgrade) my plans

Well that was easier than expected.D6Nutz wrote:I'm going to have a chat with Mrs Nutz, wales was going to be my weekend away this year but I may have to update (upgrade) my plans
I'm in. If I can match up some flight times I'll probably fly from Gatwick, there are returns a good times for £54 with sleazyjet. If I can't match the times then I'll drive up and meet you at brum.

Have a look at Hotel Minerva in Milan. It's near the canal area, good for bars and restaurants and also close to the Metro station.
Approx 200 euros for two nights for a twin room.

Yep, that'll do. It's a clean bed which is pretty much all we need.
