This heatwave
Who is enjoying it?
I do like the warmer weather. It's nice to be having a proper summer for a change. I don't think it's too hot but I am struggling a bit at night as I like to be cool when I'm sleeping.

I drive mobile greenhouses with no A/C, very poor ventilation and fake leather seats... I like warm weather just not while im working.

Re: This heatwave
The UK is not setup for very hot weather (or very cold weather tbh). UK houses are also not good in hot weather as they are poorly ventilated and trap heat mostly.
I now understand the thick brick walls and cold floors of france - they do work.

I must admit that our house has done well this summer, it's been nice and cool downstairs.
Modern UK houses are designed to be heat traps to keep heating bills down.

Mate, you were moaning the other day it was a chilly 23 degrees.
Get back in your hotbox.

Re: This heatwave
In fairness the cold affects me more when I come back from tropical heats into the depths of our winter. We were having overnight lows of -2 a few days ago. I’ve been home long enough now to re-acclimatise and the 15 deg we had today felt warm.Kwacky wrote:Mate, you were moaning the other day it was a chilly 23 degrees.

I will admit cold temps on the bike still kill me. Down to 15 deg is ok but lower than that and I’m suffering. Though I did used to commute in below zero temps while at the refinery.
And since when did we need a reason to take the piss

It's not the heat, it's the humidity that sucks.
And in warmer places your blood thins out after a few years to help you cope.

Ive had no problem with it I must be honest, which is surprising. The office can be a bit stuffy and sleeping is hard, but im not gunna moan coz id much rather it was nice like this than pissing down with rain all the time

Both myself and Mrs Cookiemonster have bought mesh textiles for this summer - leathers can be too much.
It's been 38 / 39 degrees in the shade this week and i must admit i've been finding things inside to do most of the time

Re: This heatwave
Have to say I’m loving it.
I work outside a lot, so not too fussed about a bit of sun and live on the coast so it’s (a bit) cooler at night.
I’m with Blade on this one, no moaning about the heat, it’ll be shite rain and fog soon enough without anyone wishing the sun would go away (even though I miss my lovely cold bed atm), I’m definitely making the most of it!
Enjoy the summer!

Re: This heatwave
I'll take this heat over the impending fog, rain, hail, dark and mizzle that invades us down here.
I still go out to play all year, just more fun when it's warm and dry.
We do have a few roads here that seem to be melting in the afternoons though.
Personally I go out on the Bike to play in the early hours. Nout on the road at 0530.
Leathers only get hot when you stop to gossip keep on riding and avoid the traffic.

It's going to be 90F here today!
And tomorrow too.
